How did you get started?

My mom and dad were heavily involved in the snowmobile club while I was growing up. My mom was the president of the snowmobile club and my dad did grooming for the club and he also rented out machines and was a Yamaha Tech. We lived 20 minutes out of town at a snowmobile resort named Inn On The Border. By the time I was 2 years old I had my own machine.

What are you planning for next season?

Being able to ride more often, get a truck instead of a car, some light weight parts on my machine and graduate all at once.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

Getting sponsored for doing what I love to do.

Overview

How I got started

I started sledding when i when i was 2 and a half  years old. I now own a 2006 Yamaha Apex, I am a female freerider for Lethbridge Yamaha, Sled Trails, Utopia optics, Summer Sucks,  Fuel Clothing, FXR and Yamaha Canada. I ride with the guys so much, i`m pretty much considered one, I get stuck but I get myself out... eventually. My idol rider would have to be my dad, it might sound cheesy but he has taught me everything I know, helped me get unstuck.. alot, and had the patience to wait for me on the trails or on the top of the mountain. All the guys have definetly pushed me to be a better rider. Most people that we don`t know but just go with to show them around, usually ask if I can get into a basin or up a chute, I just smile and say "You`ll See". I can go anywhere if I really set my mind to it. Shutoff my MP3 and giver.

Goals for the Future

To become a better rider, get more sponsors and really support them like they support me. Go to Revelstoke again and some other places riding... get some modifications on my Apex too hopefully.

Bio

What inspires you to compete?

That most riders are men, and you don`t see alot of female riders anymore, but hopefully, more will see that this is not a sport just for guys. i have been mistaken for one many times because of the way i ride and keep up.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I don't play school sports anymore, my knees are backwards to put it simply. I live in Blairmore, a couple blocks away from a staging area and from where I work. Pass Powderkeg Ski Hill. I snowboard but i'm horrible at it. I drive an old Sunbird, with a sweet system so its not that bad, even though the guys tell me I drive it like a truck. My boyfriend has been sith me since September of 2007, can't believe he stuck through sledding season with me, but he sucked it up and ended up buying a machine and tinkering with it. Well he kinda broke it and now he has one almost as good as mine.

Music?

When u see me on the trail or on the mountain you will probly notice that I will be nodding my head or something looking very stupid... but im probly rockin out to my iPod. I mostly listen to Country and the new music thats on Much Music or whatever sounds good in my car.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a freerider, and hopefully in the near future get a sponsorship with Yamaha, get a nice truck and trailer to go with my sled. I wanted to be a mechanic when I was younger but I noticed that not many shops around here are too keen about taking on apprentices, especially girls. But hopefully get a good paying job, go to school somewhere with alot of snow and continue riding.

Employment / Experience Summary

I grew up on a snowmobile resort in the rocky mountains in south western alberta. Had a huge field with a lake for riding everyday after school, inbetween work and homework I now work at the local Ski Hill as a lift operator. Its not that bad, but I wish I had a different job.

Competitive Highlights

I love to race, especially people that don`t know me, or do not know that i am a girl, it makes my day when some guy that wants a cheap race thinks that i am just a boy learning to ride or something stupid, but when i beat him, i take my helmet off and then I say something and look them in the face and say didn`t think i was a girl did ya now?
