What inspires you to compete?
That most riders are men, and you don`t see alot of female riders anymore, but hopefully, more will see that this is not a sport just for guys. i have been mistaken for one many times because of the way i ride and keep up.
Some Personal Information About Me:
I don't play school sports anymore, my knees are backwards to put it simply. I live in Blairmore, a couple blocks away from a staging area and from where I work. Pass Powderkeg Ski Hill. I snowboard but i'm horrible at it. I drive an old Sunbird, with a sweet system so its not that bad, even though the guys tell me I drive it like a truck. My boyfriend has been sith me since September of 2007, can't believe he stuck through sledding season with me, but he sucked it up and ended up buying a machine and tinkering with it. Well he kinda broke it and now he has one almost as good as mine.
Music?
When u see me on the trail or on the mountain you will probly notice that I will be nodding my head or something looking very stupid... but im probly rockin out to my iPod. I mostly listen to Country and the new music thats on Much Music or whatever sounds good in my car.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a freerider, and hopefully in the near future get a sponsorship with Yamaha, get a nice truck and trailer to go with my sled. I wanted to be a mechanic when I was younger but I noticed that not many shops around here are too keen about taking on apprentices, especially girls. But hopefully get a good paying job, go to school somewhere with alot of snow and continue riding.
Employment / Experience Summary
I grew up on a snowmobile resort in the rocky mountains in south western alberta. Had a huge field with a lake for riding everyday after school, inbetween work and homework I now work at the local Ski Hill as a lift operator. Its not that bad, but I wish I had a different job.
