Area 51 held it`s first NEGCCS today. Kevin raced in the Intermediate 4-8 class. 22 riders strong....he was first out of the gate...though he was at the far end of the gate...he ended up 3rd in the holeshot! Went to 5th position. At the turn after the rythym section he ended up in 4th position for most of the race. The lap before the white flag went up...was a pure downright battle between the same child....he passed Kevin on the corner...Kevin caught up to him during the straight away then passed him on the corner...finally they ended up side by side seconds before the white flag...going over a tabletop....when...the other kid hit the front tire of Kevin`s bike and took him out...he went down and went down hard...face/head first with the bike flipping onto his knee. Medics came out as his head/neck and right leg were hurting him......medics finally drove him off the track...he was woosy for awhile. We iced him at injuries and let him rest. Kevin was absoluetly adament about racing the 2nd moto...!!!....We got the ok so we let him. Kevin truely has some guts and heart!

I haven`t been able to race the last couple of weeks...a little sad about it butshouldhopefully be at Palmyra, NY (Hogback Hill) on June 4th for WNYMA points race. Next race I will be at is Moto-X of Watkins Glen (AMA Sanctioned District 4) on June 11th, 2006...I will be celebrating my birthday there also!!
