How I got started...

I have always been competative in a friendly way. I like to compete to push myself to be better. I do NOT need to defeat someone to prove my skills. I enjoy the competative spirit mixed with the bond to other riders. I gravitated to MTB racing following my days in RODEO as a bull rider. Post children, it seemed like a wise choice

Goals for the Future...

I plan to compete in all the DINO Series. Also I hope to compete in 2 adventure triathlons. 4 organized road events including a 1 day 160 mile event.  I plan to dominate the sport class for 2009 (Hey, you gotta dream big).

Some Personal Information About Me:

I have the best family anyone could ask for. A supportive wife and 3 of the best children you could imagine.

Describe your style...

POSITIVE........make the best of what you have today, and smile.

Employment / Experience Summary

What inspires you to compete?

The drive to better myself. I understand that I will not make an olympic team, or be a world champ. I just want to push myself everyday to be better, in everything I do. I want to be around like minded people who also strive to improve. Racing allows me to surround myself with like-minded people, and hopefully we are all better for it!

How's Life Treating You?

Life treats me GREAT!! Why? Because I decided a long time ago it would. I decided life would not "treat me" I would "treat it". Every day is a gift. It is up to me to do something with today. Begin every knowing it could be your last, live it like it was your last, and don't waste time looking back. Fall down, get back up, and drive on!!

Why do you like this sport?

I enjoy the complexity of MTB racing. Its not just one factor that makes you good. You must be versitile. Every course is different, even the same courses change with the conditions. You must be prepared for anything. Its and everchanging sport, that I can improve on all the time.

EVENT SPOTLIGHT

DINO EXTERRA

VERSAILLES, IN

SWIM: The swim start is from a beach to the east of the boat ramp. The course is a counterclockwise, triangular loop in the deepest part of Versailles Lake. Lifeguards will be patrolling the course on rowboats. Kayak division racers will complete a 2 km swim extending to near the park dam.

BIKE: The mountain bike segment is the highlight of the race. A new section of trail will be complete just in time for the race (Cliffside, an AMAZING trail you will not forget). The course will utilize scenic and fun singletrack, including several climbs and descents with elevation changes over 200 vertical feet. The surface is nearly all dirt single-track.

RUN: The run course will utilize most of the park's hiking trails, including #1, #2 and #3. There will be several steep up and downhills, rooty sections, and stairs. It is a very challenging course. An aid station will be located at the transition area and at approximately miles 1 and 3 on the run course, at a two-way portion of trail connecting trail #1 to trail #2.
