OverviewHow I got startedMy dad grew up riding from about the age of 8 so I was always around dirt bikes as a kid. When I was 11 I finally saved up enough money to buy a 1984 YZ60. Three weeks after I bought it someone stole it from my house. My dad felt bad so he bought me a new bike and took me to watch a race at a track that used to be in our area. As soon as I saw the first practice I knew I wanted to do it.
I practiced for a couple months then went to a race and entered 80 beginner. After that we just started traveling a little bit and I have been going strong ever since, with the exception of my injuries
. Goals for the FutureI just recently started racing again after taking a long break due to several injuries and surgeries. I am excited to be back racing again and I plan on accomplishing a lot next season. For the rest of 2006 I plan on attending as many local races as possible as well as the Dodge Amateur Nationals, the Amateur Open, the first round of the Toyota Arenacross series to qualify for the US OPEN Amateur days, and the first round or two of the BooKoo Arenacross Series.
In 2007 I plan on attending World Minis, Mammoth, Ponca City, Loretta Lynn?s, Dodge Nationals, Arenacross Amateur World finals, and as many races as possible in the Northwest and Northern California. I am also going to be getting into Minibike racing for 2007. My local mini shop (Faster-Minis.com) has been helping me build a bike so I will be ready by the time the Mini Moto race comes to Vegas. Keep in mind that I am 21 and I have no financial support from anyone, not even my parents. So money may not allow me to attend everything I plan on. But I am going to do my best
! BioWhat inspires you to compete?I am inspired to compete for many reasons. I don?t know what the biggest reason would be so here is a list of a few.
1. Seeing my daughter smile and hopefully making money so I can give my daughter the life she deserves
2. Motocross is my life and I just love to be on the bike
3. There is nothing better than working your butt off all week and then having it pay off on the weekend
4. To be successful in something that I enjoy and try hard to be good at.
5. Competing is my life. It gives me the motivation and desire to live, and work hard to be the best.
Basically to sum it up, I am inspired to compete because I am more afraid of failing at something that I set out to do, than I am of injuries and pain. Some Personal Information About Me:Racing is my life. I have had some huge set back though. One thing that I don`t regret at all but it definitely hurt my racing was having a kid at a young age. Now when I look at my daughter it just makes me want to do better so I can give her everything she deserves in life.
Some other set backs I have had have been injuries and being unfairly bumped up to the A class for a while. I was never really injured much when I was young except with concussions and a couple bones being broke. Then things got bad. In the 3 years I have been in a cast of some sort for 19.5 months, almost two years!
When I was bumped to the A class it was really ridiculous. I had just moved up to B and went to the 4-Stroke Nationals and was told that the top B riders could ride in the premier or 250F class. So I did. Then a couple weeks later I got protested and the AMA moved me up. I had the class promotion appealed three times before it finally got approved after I took 9 months off from racing to let my right leg heal after a couple surgeries. Do you train? What does your schedule look like?I train every day that I am not racing. During the week I work from 6am to 3 or 4pm then I go home and ride if our track is wet enough, or if our local track is open. In the evening I go to the gym for two to three hours, or I ride one of my bicycles, or my DRZ110. On the weekends I am usually at the track Saturday and Sunday racing or practicing. All in all I work as hard as I can on top of trying to run my landscape business. I?m a full timer in work, parenting, and racing. The one thing my schedule doesn?t include is much rest. Music?I like pretty much all kinds of music. Just depends on where I am and what mood I am in. I have Static-X in my cd player right now. Why do you compete?I compete because it makes my life worth living. I have always been a competitor in one sport or another since I was four years old. I live to make myself better, to out do myself from the week before, and most of all do out do everyone else in my class. Competition to me is life, it makes my life interesting and fun, and helps me reach for my goals and dreams. Competitive Highlights
