Q&A - Self Interview
Competing or Winning?
I love competing and winning. I'm glad at my age I still have a competitive edge and pull those wins. I love the thrill of competition. I also love to win.
How do I get my game face on?
I prepare my equipment, plenty of fluids, listen to my favorite music before my heats, and I'm ready to do work!
What type of training do you do through?
Mostly, I work on my endurance. I treadmill about 2 miles a day, plus 1 mile of physical walking. It helps when I have back to back heats.
About Kevin ...
What inspires you to compete?
I compete because I'm a winner. I love the thrill of competition and being the best at it. No matter what the sport, the blood is flowing, the heart is pumping, it's a total rush!
Music?
I'm into to all types of music from Old School Rock to Trance, to Metal, to Alt, - I've been listening to alot of Stain lately, but have been known to switch quickly
to Fuel in a blink of an eye!
Employment / Experience Summary
I've been into computers and racing since I was 9 years old. I've started working at a corporation when I was 16 doing computer operations. At 18 I quickly moved up to Operations Manager. At 21 I began programming and consulting as a dbase programmer. I worked as a systems analyst in the 90s at LA Air Force Base. Today I'm a Network Operations Manager at the University of Southern California.
Why do you like this sport?
This sport tests your endurance, coordination, vision, will to win, competitive edge, physical fitness, etc.
It allows me to run with younger and sometimes older people, testing the will to win. It's also a blast.
Describe your style...
I'm pretty much a freestyle person. Everything I compete in I want to win. I do pay attention to what works and doesn't work. There is a method to the maddness. I just go for it. That's the way to get the job done!
