Why do you compete?

Because I love competition. There's nothing like banging bars and battling with your competitors.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

Yes. I love to train. When I'm training for BMX, I do sprints twice a week and spend 2 nights a week at the track. I also lift weights, run and ride mountain bikes. When I'm training for desert racing, I run 10-15 miles per week and ride my mountain bike 2 times per week. I also ride every chance I get. When I'm coaching my kids sports, I do not compete at all. I try to limit my training so I can focus my attention on them.

What inspires you to compete?

I am inspired by athletes who are still competing at a high level past the age of 40.

Why do you like this sport?

I like BMX because it takes a high level of physical fitness as well as superior bike handling skills. It takes both attributes to be successful.

How's Life Treating You?

Life is good. My family is healthy and happy. I'm truly blessed.
