Lynch Racing Makes LLMRS History at DCS
July 5TH 2008 Roseburg, Oregon

LLMRS history was made this July 5th, when Lynch Racing became the first multi-car team to compete in the Limited Late Model Racing Series. The two car team made their season debut at Douglas County Speedway with veteran racer Gene Lynch behind the wheelof the new  #52 Chevy Monte Carlo returning to the LLMRS and the #51 Chevy Monte Carlo driven by rookie James Pierce Jr.

It was said Lynch Racing had the “hottest cars at the track” as both cars fought overheating problems early on due to the summer heat. Despite overheating problems in the features, the #52 of Gene Lynch made a strong showing in the LLMRS feature.
From the start of the LLMRS race the #52 Chevy of Lynch had a great battle going with the #68 Toyota of Tim McDougald for many laps before “Terrible Tim” was able to make the pass and get around. The #52 gave chase and was closing in on the #68 when he drove too deep into turn 1 spinning into the infield to bring out the first caution. The #52 was able to come back to make a few more laps before overheating ended his feature. Meanwhile James Pierce Jr. in car 51 was getting a feel for the track and car, showing that he can handle a race car.

Of the 3 LLMRS cars to compete in the Super Stock Challenge, both of Lynch Racing’s cars would come back to compete in the Super Stock Challenge. The #52 of Gene Lynch qualified an impressive 8th fastest in a large field of 17 racecars, along with the LLMRS’s Dylan Caldwell starting in 2nd to give the LLMRS 2 of the top 10 starting positions!  From a 15th place starting position The #52 car rose to 6th place and driving through a spectacular wreck on the backstretch before again experiencing overheating issues and retiring for the night. Being a rookie, James Pierce Jr. opted to start shot gun on the field, the #51 Chevy was steadily making progress until a misfire ended James’s night.

It was a great night of racing for both of our teams. Rookie James Pierce Jr. did well in his first race in the #51 Chevy beating his teammate Gene Lynch, by completing more laps and finishing ahead of Lynch’s #52 Chevy in the DCS Super Stock Challenge Race and in the LLMRS feature. Both cars came home with only minor damage. All of us look forward to doing it again as soon as we can.Sadly however; our team has no sponsor support at this time.
