Adrenaline Freaks Trackday - 30th March 2007

Well the start of the actual 2007 race season is here. It officially kicked of on the 31st of March and the 1st of April at Pacific Raceways for the WMRRA event.

My weekend actually started on Fri, with a practice track day with Adrenaline Freaks (www.adrenalinefreaks.com) track day company run by Mario Alverez. I would like to start of giving a big thanks to Mario and all of his staff on an excellent day. The weather forecast was calling for partly cloudy with rain moving into the area around noon. Typical Seattle day, right? Since we were only going to get limited dry track time this weekend it was time to put it to good use. In the previous week I had Barry of GP Suspension North (http://gpsuspension.com/) re valve my front forks. Time to test them out. The bikes front end gave me immediate feedback that had been lacking in the past. Still a few adjustments needed to be made and with the help of Barry, I was getting very comfortable. The rain held of, until about the noon session. Drizzle started half way thru the session and to my surprise out of turn 5, it was become very slick. I saved a near high side in turn 5 and then almost did the same thing in turn 7. Time to come in and call it quits for a bit and change to my rain tires. Since the weekend was calling for rain as well, it was a perfect time to swap tires and try and get as comfortable as possible in the wet. The day ended very well. No major crashes and most of us walked away with no injuries. Please take the time to visit our on track Photographer, Brandon Bones of Studio 819.
