How I got started

I started riding in October of 2002 on a 2002 Yz85. I rode four to five times a week for the first few months practicing the basics of Motocross in an open field and on offroad trails. I then got an RM 125 to start racing on, but only raced one race on that bike before getting a 2002 Yz 125. After getting the YZ 125 I started traveling around a little more riding at different tracks through out the Northwest and Northern California. I currently own a 2005 YZ 125. I have been racing now for about 3 years and hope to take my skills and abilities to all new levels in the near and distant future.

Goals for the Future

I have just switched to the Kawasaki, so my goals for the rest of the year are to get comfortable on the bike, and get back into the swing of things to prepare for 2010. For the winter we will be attending some offroad races, and we plan on doing the entire 2010 WORCS series. Our schedule includes a few western rounds of the nationals, and as many local and regional races we can attend in between. My personal goal is to dominate the womens class every where I go and leave a mark at every race. I will be racing in the 125 Novice class as Well and I would like to be placing midpack to top 5 by the end of next summer. Please help me acheive these goals by giving me the recources i need to get my bike set up, to have the best product available on the market, and most importantly to get me to the races.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

This past Sunday, 8-13-06, I was at a race at Albany MX, in Oregon, and we were sitting onthe line all ready to go, and the guy points down the line, so we all get our bikes revved up. Then, he stops us, and starts pointing. I was looking around trying to figure it out, then I realize he was pointing at me. And I was sitting there trying to figure it out when the girl next to me, pointed to my bars, where my goggles were hanging from, instead of on my head. I was pretty embarressed. However, I had the most perfect jump off of the gate that any one has ever seen, along with a huge holeshot, so itmade up for it!!

Why do you like this sport?

Growing up, I have played team sports such as volleyball, basketball, and softball. If you win, the team shares it, if you lose the team shares it. Although in motocross, you have teams, you can still finish in a position based soley on you. I like to know that, if I win, it was because of me, I earned it. If I dont, then I have no one else to blame but myself. I am an individual, I like to represent my own stats. This sport, has a thrill like no other. Nothing can compare to it, and nothing ever will.

Some Personal Information About Me:

My name is Krystle and I am 21. Five years ago, I had never heard of motocross, and had never seen a dirtbike. I had to ask if it was motocross or motorcross. Then I met my fiance and a little over three years ago I started riding. I went from an RM 125, to an 02 YZ125, and to my current bike, 2005 YZ125. I love racing, and I currently work at Subway to support it. I have big plans for the future. In Highschool I had a dream to get on a scholarship for volleyball. Due to negative politics, that dream was crushed. Motocross is my new dream, and my life. Its my redemption.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I train everyday. I work Monday through friday, usaully 4-8 hours each day. I get off work, I go home, change, then go to the gym for 2 hours or so. I do moderate weights, resistance, endurance, and heat (dry suana) training. Some of the machines I use are an arm bike, the stationary bike, treadmill, a manual slalom machine, legs weights, back weights, stomache weights, and arm weights. On the weekends, I ride where I can, and in the winter we get snow here so I snowmobile to keep my body used to pulling a machine around.

Why do you compete?

I grew up with sports. i love to compete. I strive to be the best and to win. I am competitive in everything I do, from household chores to my full time job. I NEED motocross to channel it. It`s cliche, but like the commercials, racing is my anti-drug. Sitting on the line, rev`d up, waiting for the gates to drop, going through that first corner, and coming out on top at the checkered....Nothing compares to that. Motocross is who I am, it is what I do.
