Ryan and I competed in Blue Mountain's first event in their three race Vertical Earth Series. We raced Category two because Collegiate Cat 3 was a joke but this was much different. Everyone who raced was series about biking and brought their game faces. Although we didn't do so hot relative to everyone else it was a great first race and a good learning experience. There were three triples on the course and I went to fast to roll one of them one time and didn't have the confidence to double the last two humps. I nose cased the third hump and tacoed my wheel in practice so I raced with a tire that would have rubbed on my fork if I hadn't kicked it into submission. I think I crashed a total of three times and my shoulder is hurting a little bit so I want to rest it before I start sessioning my backyard DJ's and do some XC riding for  cardio. Riding at my house with Ryan was the most fun I've had biking since I left college for summer. I'm going to try and get some of my hometown friends more into biking so that I have people to ride with and make biking and fun again.

Now that school is out for summer I'm going to have allot more time to ride. I'm determined to become as good a rider as my friends up at college. I really suck at jumping so I'm building a set of DJs at my house that I plan to ride at least every other day. I also want to get back into shape. Last semester I took Differential Equations, Strength of Materials, Dynamics, Quantum Physics and Electrical Engineering so needless to say I didn’t have much time to stay in shape. I'm going to use the family's Bowflex and my friends want to go on weekly XC rides.  Let summer commence!
