Every racer that I know has an idea of how he/she Hopes a weekend will go; and a version of how it will most likely go. Last weekends racing exceeded both the level I expected to reach, and the level I had hoped to reach! The weather was a perfect high 70's low 80's, an even breeze and a slightly cloudy sky. Thats racin' weather. I felt good and confident in practice and kept positive about how I'd finish in tommorrow's events. The weekend started out strong with strong starts and good solid finishes and left me sitting with one 3rd place podium and one 5th place finish after the first day of racing. For the First time ever, I grabbed the holeshot and the lead this weekend. Then I did it again! but the second time was short lived. I wish I had a picture of the grin I had on my face! So thats what winning feels like! Someday I'll keep that lead, but not that day. I finished up the weekend with three more 5th's and one more 3rd place podium from the race that I was leading. An even more surprising thing happened and I swear im not lying.... you can even check it out on mylaps.com....... I dropped over 4 seconds from last months lap times. i was running mid 1:55's and had three 151.4ish runs. I not only had a huge drop in times but it was consistant over all the races. Needless to say, I was extremely surprised. It just started to feel natural out there, like I didnt need to think, just ride. By the end of the weekend I was exhausted. I had run twice as many races as usual because I am now running my middleweight bike in heavyweights also. Time to hit the gym. So now here is where I stand:
6th in Middleweight Overall
14th in Heavyweight Overall
18th Overall Novice

Do you ever get that feeling when you do well that you wish there were more races to compete in because you're "in the zone"? Thats how I felt at the end of the weekend. It started off with a 9th in supersport which makes me happy (any top ten does). I had just fitted new ohlins suspension to the bike so we were testing settings all friday and saturday practice and the supersport race for that matter. The bike felt solid and I was confident, hence a decent result. went a few clicks softer in the rear.... and WOW! this stufff is worth every penny! plush firmness (oxymoron???) now im running 2 seconds per lap faster! Superbike backed up the confidence with a 5th! I even went off track once! (it was raining) Then as icing on the cake I placed 6th in GP. I was stoked and left wanting more! Too bad... thats was it. Next month Im running heavyweights as well, on the same bike, we'll see how it goes. Feeling good though.
Sitting in 8th in middleweights!
See you out there!

Sun shining, warm weather, good track conditions, a racer can't complain too much when mother nature gives us a great weekend! The team had lots of friends and family up to watch, so everyone wanted to do especially well, Being fathers day on saturday I really wanted to show "pops" how I have progressed. The bikes and the rigs were clean & proffesional looking. We had a few additional friends & some new rider friends of ours pitting with us giving us a huge continuous canopy..... it was great! Well, as many of you may have seen this coming....... In the 3rd lap of the first race of the weekend........ I got a little ahead of myself. A friend & fellow racer and I were dicing it up into turn 3 where he took me on the brakes up the inside. I powered through the following short straight towards the left-right "S" to put a wheel on him around the outside of 4 so I'd have the inside in 5........ if you would've asked me; i would've told you this is my favorite section of the track & a comfortable move for me. Well i got a little anxious as the rear stepped out, but stayed on the throttle as i went around the outside. As the camber in 4 decreased.... so did my ability to keep the rear in check. An easy low-side and a nice ass-slide turned tumble for me to start off the weekend. So when all seemed perfect...... the inevitable happened. Looking at the brighter side of things: I was fine. No injuries besides a sore rear, but the bike broke a clip-on, brake lever, rearset, dented the fuel tank. the bodywork didnt get it too bad but the lowers are trashed and there isnt a single piece that didnt get some sort of rash. So i spent the rest of the day fixing and re-prepping the bike so I could make the superbike and GP races. I finished BARELY in time & was changing in to my leathers as they were announcing 3rd and final call to grid for superbike. I made it through as they were closing the gate but couldn't even take the warm-up lap! Anyway..... stress & a lack of faith in the tires which were not up to temp, did not help my racing at all. Making the GP grid & battling to the finish with a friend of mine made up for it the next day. Didnt finish where i had hoped & didnt get to focus on changes & improvements i wanted to try, but I had fun. Hopefully they're will be more close racing for us next month.
See you out there!

Well, well, well...... The first weekend has come and gone..... I miss it already! BIR was cold (50-65*) and rainy and very windy ( 10-35mph gusts) EXCELLENT racing weather!! ok... not really but we all had a great time. Both bikes came back in one piece & so did the riders. I'd call that alone a success!........ but thats not all! Teamate Tucker Dally (# 309) had a great weekend with two 4th's and a 3rd place podium finish in mw sbk! Congrats man!!!! (p.s. Riding in his brand new F350 was Very nice indeed) Thank you Denny Hecker!
Myself...... well I had a rough & rainy supersport race having a close call with another rider in turn 10 sending us both off-track ( we both stayed up!) and finished 16th. Things improved from there though and I placed 7th in the superbike race and 7th again in the moto GP race. all-in-all I had a great time and made out with about 18 or 19 points. Im just glad to be out there having a great time! My lap times improved a lot over the weekend & I know of more than a few things that need improvement..... so untill next time.....

Only 2 months to go until the CRA's season opener at BIR! Could it go any slower? We just got over 2 feet of snow in the last 48 hrs! The VORTEX Racing, SUOMY Helmets, HOTBODIES, LEO VINCE Exhaust, AUTOMOTIVE CONCEPTS, CHICKEN HAWK Racing, MICHELIN, YAMAHA R6R is in her final stages of prep and she's begging to be tested! Im not sure how much longer I can keep her on the stands. What?..... Did someone say "road-trip"????!!! Hmmmm anyone know of any warm trackdays in the next few weeks?
Oh by the way, if you live in a "warm all year-round" state....... We hate you. lol.

For 2007 I will be racing the Automotive Concepts designed, 2006 Wolff Motorsports Prepped, Vortex, Leo Vince', Suomy, Hotbodies, Chicken Hawk Racing, Michelin, YAMAHA R6R.
My italian stallion aprilia RSVR mille will be available, however, I will be focusing on the middleweight class this year so I doubt it will get run this season.

So now that you're wondering who I am.......
I'm in love with riding. That could probably sum it up; but you probably already knew that didn't you... I own and operate a SMALL business: Wolff Motorsports. Its a lubrication retail/wholesale outfit I run for most of the guys I ride with, friends and family, and as word of mouth spreads.... so does my business. While I would love to be able to race full-time I cant and so for a real job I work for the Denny Hecker Auto Connection @ Monticello Ford, Mercury & SALEEN here in Minnesota. & yes it does get REALLY COLD!! ( its like 5* as I write this) I race in the CRA (Central Roadracing Association) here in MN at Brainerd International Raceway. I Compete in Supersport, Superbike and GP in the novice class. There's a nice sized group of my buddies in the same classes so that makes it very interesting!
Ever gonna be in MN??
CRA scheduled dates
May 4-6 BIR
June 15-17 BIR
July 20-22 BIR
August 24-26 BIR
September 14-16 BIR
See you out there.

I have recenly allocated my ride for next year! I just picked up a `06 Yamaha R6R LE! She`ll be ready for next year. I think the aprilia is jealous of all the attention. So far shes got vortex rearsets, michelin pilot power race mediums. Not sure which exhaust to go with yet. bmc race filter. amsoil motor oil. So for all you guys racing superstock ,superbike, and GP novice this year up at BIR in minnesota..... I'll see ya out there.
