Hare Scrambles & Super Cross
How did you get started?
My dad bought me a XR70 in second grade. He also got a bike so we both got to ride trails together. He took me to the Atlanta Supercross and I saw Jeramy McGrath. After that, I got a used 2003 RM85 and all I want to do is ride and race! It's all I think about!!!
List your competitive highlights
I Won the Jr. Mini Class at the Highfalls SX 2006 summer series. Last 5 motos, I won 4 of the hole shoots.
I also attend the Durhamtown, GA motocross school in July of 2006.
Just started riding the SORCS HS Series (Southern Out-Door Championship Series) consisting of 11 races around Georgia.
What are you planning for next season?
My RM85L came in and it's awesome. Agreed with my Dad that MX was killing my body and his nerves so I reluctantly tried Hare-Scrambles. What a great time. Only problem are the jumping trees:) but I got barkbusters and a skid plate and it's great. 3 of my school buddies also ride the SORCES seriesso it's alot more fun. Plus I get to ride 30-40 miles instead of 5 laps every 4 hours. I'm having fun! Accidently scared a KX250 rider and myself when I jumped a deep double and he came out of it as I was passing close overhead. HS tracks have a lot of MX tracks added in so I get my cake and eat it to.
What has been your biggest accomplishment?
Winning my first year out and talking my Mom out of ending my riding career after my first ambulance ride to the hosptial: I endoed out of a jump into the 450's ruts.

Dad talked me into trying HS series this spring. Some excuse about hospital bills, no parachute and having peace around the house; I'm pretty sure he meant mom:( HS is awesome. I'm still trying to make the adjustment. No one told me about the jumping trees:) Most of the trails have a big section of MX track and I rip through it because of my MX skills. I've added the handlebar protectors and a skid plate to protect he trees:) At first race I saw my classmate plus other friends. I'm having so much fun and learning how to ride HS. I get a whole lot more seat time, a lot of MX jumps, my friends are with me and my dad doesn't yell anymore. It's good being a kid! |
