Overview

How I got started

It all started when I was 9 years old. My dad told me that my uncle had a 1984 XR100 at his house he never uses. So we decided to drive down and get it. It needed work but we put alot of time and elbow grease into it. We finally got it running about a week later. I rode everyday for about 5 months. I fell in love with it. We decided to upgrade to a CR80 in 2001. My dad asked me if i wanted to race 2 months after i got it and i said "Lets do it". It all elevated from there.

Goals for the Future

My plans for the 2006 season are simple. Win. I want to step it up a level and become a 125/250 intermediate. I want to set a pace and excel from there. I would also like to compete alot more in the Pac-West and Nationals.

This is were Ty Lacey and Mikey Horban push me. its called the slides. Its an old granite mine. We`ve got a few tracks, lots of hill climbs and anything you cant think up! (ignore what on my front number plate, thanks MIKE)

What inspires you to compete?

My dad bought me a CR80 after my XR100 and we found a local track, (At that time we lived in California and found a track in Oregon, RVMX.) We showed up to practice according to the schedule, and my dad paid the gate fee as I was getting ready and came back freaked out! Today wasn`t a practice day but part of a Grand Prix! Dad said Willy, this isn`t practice , this is a real race! We decided to go for it, that was my first practice-race, I took 7th overall and I`ve been hooked ever since.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

The First time I crashed hard, (I knew I could clear that table top!)and my family, friends, and the rest of the track saw my first full track medical check-up at the bottom of that table top.My Grandma screamed so loud! That was the first day my dad video taped my race, and it payed off! I`ve had a few crashes since then (only one of them was serious) .

Why do you like this sport?

Motocross is not a thing that we do to be popular, make money, or get the girls, but it is something that we do for the love of being on a dirt bike. Those who have never woke up at 6 in the morning to go get ready for practice just dont understand. The countless hours all of us put in to this sport is not because we want to be famous, but because we love it. You will never have a bigger addrenaline rush than lining up at the gate with 40 riders next to you, all wanting the same thing, to win. We all know the risks we are about to take when we ride, but that`s what makes the sport so great. If there wern`t any risks involved, anyone could be a pro. All of us know that we probably will never ever be as good as RC or James Stewart but we try any way. It is not just catching a football or hitting a ball with a bat, it is way beyond that. Every time we go down to the track it is like a family. Motocross is not just a sport, ITS A WAY OF LIFE. Live to ride, ride to live tomorrow... and that is just how it is.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I attend North Valley High School. Before that I was on the Honor Role since 6th grade at Montague Elementary School. I moved to Oregon in the summer of 2004. I kept average grades during my 9th grade year (it was alot tougher then I expected). I did manage to make the Honor Role though (3.6 GPA and up). I plan to improve my grades immensely during my sophmore year. I have a deal with my dad, I bring in the good grades and I get to keep racing. I want this sport to take me as far as I can possibly go but my feet are still on the ground as for my education. I maintain a full time job at a horse care facility during the summer and school. As for my education, it is a top priority.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

Right now I am enrolled in a weight training program at our school. Every day for 45 minutes we run through the stations, depending on the day.I have a partner th at pushs me as far as i can go every time we work out. We run, lift weights, and do lots of cardio. I take my daily vitamins also, My morning batch is made of Calcium, Garlic and Parsley and a vitamin energy pack. My evening batch consists of Zinc 50 MG, Mulit-vitamin, Soy Lecithin and echinacea. I also take MSM with Glucosamine before a race to ease the soreness on my body after the races. I practice about 3 times a week, one of them being woods riding. I hit the local tracks Wednesday and Saturday and ride in the woods when ever i get a chance. I Stretch for 10 minutes before a moto, then I run my bike to the starting line to get the bloodflow going.
