Well, the time has come. The Wildman has finished his final SnoCross race on Spirit Mountain with WSA Racing. He made it a "3-Peat" and won the Champ 120 Sno-X Championship for the third year in a row! Nick also won every "King of the Hill" Hill-X race he competed in this year. He got the biggest air ever this season on the track and on the hill, and it was exciting to see Nick and his fellow racers improve their riding skills every week. We have made some wonderful friends during Sno-X and we would like to go back next season to watch a couple of races and see who is leading the pack!
We can hardly believe it is over---It Has Been A Wild Ride! Thank you Nick for always doing your best and for never giving up. We have watched you fall off your sled and slide 35' across the ice into Dad's arms---we have twice watched you coming into the final turn of the final lap on your Stock Kitty Cat to get the checkered flag, and having your engine blow up---we have watched you make some incredible passes and split-second decisions on the track. We have watched you fly 6' in the air while doing "King of the Hill"---we have seen you make some incredible hole shots and some great "ski-lies"---and we have seen some tears fall down your cheeks when you knew something was wrong with your sled and it couldn't be fixed in time for a heat race or final.
Nick never blamed his Dad when things went wrong, he never raised his voice at him---not ever, not in eight years of racing. That, Nick, is why your Dad worked so hard to keep your sleds running well and to get you to all the races----you gave him 100% at every race and he needed to give you 110% back. Win or lose---we were proud of your efforts---we did it together. We love you Nick.
#77 Nick "The Wildman" Erickson has had 100 Final Victories and Won 11 Year End "Points Championships" (4 Stock Classes & 7 Full MOD Classes). Nick finished this final year going 3 for 4 Mod Championships in WSA Kid's Pro-ICE Formula-1 Kitty Cat, WSA Kid's Sno-X Champ 120 & WSA Kid's Hill-X Champ 120. Team Wildman Racing had 10 Full MOD wins in 2008.
