Dear Friends and Family of Team Wildman,

#77 Nick "The Wildman" Erickson has just completed his last WSA Kid's Pro-ICE racing season. Nick is now 13 years old and has been racing for 8 years. With over 2000 Heat and Final races combined, Nick is no stranger to Championships, but this WSA Kid's Pro-ICE Formula-1 Championship was definitely the hardest thing "Team Wildman Racing" has set out to accomplish! He and his fellow F-1 racers battled it out on the ice for seven weeks. Nick qualified for all his Finals, winning 2 of 7 races in this 2007/2008 Pro-ICE season for the "WSA Kid's Pro-ICE Formula-1 Championship".

Nick also raced in the Open Champ 120 class. He finished 5th in points overall in a field of about 15 very competitive mod sleds with a 100 pound driver & sled disadvantage.

Now with Nick's Pro-ICE Championship behind us, it is time for Team Wildman Racing to convert the Open Champ 120 to a SNO-X,HILL-X Mod and catch some well deserved AIR. The Wildman will be defending his "BACK to BACK" WSA Kid's SNO-X & Hill-X Champ 120 Championships starting on March 2 in Cable, WI and racing through April 13 when we finish out the season and Nick's Kid's snowmobile racing career on Spirit Mountain in Duluth, MN.

I've had some talks with Nick and he has decided to hang up racing after this season, but he definitely wants to go out on TOP and he will definitely be racing something again someday!!! Next year, "Team Wildman Racing" will be found on the Snowmobile trails all over the Midwest having some serious fun!

What a Wild Ride it has been!!! Eight Great years of racing, Nick! You're the "CLEANEST" racer I know. You have made your mom and me very Proud throughout the years and have shown me there's a MAN under that boy helmet. We love you.

A big "Thank You" to all our friends and family who have supported Nick's efforts over the years. Also, Thanks to everyone who was able to come out and watch Nick race. We hope you enjoyed it. We also would like to wish WSA Kids Pro-Ice Racing www.kidsproice.org continued success in the future and best of luck to all the racers and their families.

Formula-1 Qualifying went very well. 2 second place finishes got us in for the Final to be held on Sunday. Nick was in top form on Sunday but we had to change tracks on the sled which screwed up our handling and on Saturday night I had to add a extra head gasket because the crank bearing was starting to go sloppy and the piston was hitting the head (less compression = less power). Nick rode an exciting Final at times 3 wide in the turns. He worked all the way up to 3rd but hooked an edge and had to let off and drift wide leaving him 5th place.

Champ 120 wasn't going to be any easier. Twenty some champ sleds wanted to be Minnesota State Champions. We missed qualifying by 1 position in our 3 rounds of qualifying putting Nick in the Consolation Race. Nick got a really good HOLE SHOT and came out of turn #1 in second. Nick put the heat on the leader the whole race, trying to setup a pass to rocket side by side with the leader who had a little more steam at the end of the finish line straight. He rode a foot away the whole race through the turns and never touched his competition. Nick rode his Champ hard and we put it away WET! Nice clean racing Wildman.

One more Pro-ICE race at Siren WI next week end and it's time to convert the Champ to SNO-X and catch some well deserved AIR!!!

Saying "Team Wildman Racing has had it's share of BAD race days this season." is a understatement. But, this last weekend wasn't one of them. The sun was out most of the day helping Mrs. Wildman Sr. with the "All important task of IMAGE taking". The temps were frigid, almost in the teens, but The Wildman was HUNGRY to make both his FINAL's.

Out of 19 "Champ 120 sleds" that entered the Champ class only 6 were going to the FINAL. Nick won his first HEAT race and took 2nd in his last two Heat races to barely qualify. Nick worked his sled to it's full potential and swapped some paint here and there to pull a 6th place finish. This race class has some serious competition being brought every week and somebody is always finding more speed or a quicker HOLE SHOT over the week before. Just to make the Final is a miracle in it's self. Great Champ 120 racing Nick!!!

The Formula-1 class is as competitive but not as many sleds. We spent a lot of time dialing in the "XXX Jack ShaftleSS Chassis" and showed up confident that we finally brought a Formula-1 that would have a solid HOLE SHOT with TOP end clutching. Nick advanced to the final with ease. We, by luck of the draw, got lane #1 which is the worst lane for a F-1 race. Nick's reaction time was a little better than it should of been (Jumped the gun), so on the 2nd restart of the FINAL he didn't want to chance leaving the line early which delayed his squash of the FLIPPER (throttle). He came into corner #1 dead last and kept the FLIPPER squashed the whole race to coast into third while bringing some serious HEAT to 2nd place, which was a sled length from the winner.

Next week Team Wildman Racing will be competing in "The Minnesota State Kid's Pro-ICE Championships" Sat & Sun at Prior Lake, MN. We feel confident that we will make our Sponsors proud and do very well.

Our first race was our first test. The sled ran smooth and handling seemed to be right on. Nick was the number 2 qualifier for the final to be held in the afternoon. Track conditions in the afternoon weren't good. A lot of standing water and slush on the track and start line. With the stage set and six F-1's lined up for the 5 lap FINAL, it was GO GREEN time. #77 was 4th to corner #1 but by corner #2 he was in 3rd. It took Nick most of lap 2 to pass on the outside for 2nd place. Once in 2nd it didn't take him long to catch the leader with a mad dash on the outside down the front straight away hitting 42 MPH for the lead with two laps to go. Nick coasted in for the WIN with no heat behind him! The entire race lasted 50 seconds.

There`s never been a sled like this one. I GUARANTEE IT!!!
