Monterey, California, (April 12, 2006) -After a sensational `05 season, the Utopia Optics mountain bike teams continues their dominance in 2006! Under adverse conditions, the world`s fastest racers battled in mud-fested tracks at the Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California.
2005 Gravity Omnium (Overall) & Downhill Champion Jared Graves had another sensational weekend! Once again he has proven that he is a dominant force on the downhill circuit. Jared bested the best downhill racers in the globe, including the current World Downhill Champion Fabien Barel by 4 seconds! After capping of his weekend with a 3rd in Mountain Cross, Jared secured 2nd place overall in the Gravity Omnium competition.
In the women`s field, Sabrina Jonnier battled a fierce field to finish 2nd overall in the Gravity Omnium competition. Sabrina kicked off her weekend by securing a victory in the dual slalom & continued her success by landing on the podium at each discipline!
Newly signed dirt jumper / slopestyle rider Adam Hauck had an impressive team debut finishing 2nd in the Pro Dirt Jump Contest
Utopia would like to thank all the team riders for a truly successful season debut! Nathan Rennie, Mick Hannah, Jared Graves, Sabrina Jonnier are all set for an exciting 2006 season & are gearing up for their opportunity to challenge for the title in this year`s UCI World Cup Series championships.
