San Marcos, California (April 6, 2006) Utopia Optics is pleased to announce the addition of American mountain bike hero Eric Carter to the 2007 team!  Carter joins Utopia’s family this season as an essential part of our program.  Carter’ stature in the mountain bike community solidifies the fact that the Utopia mountain bike program is one of the best & most coveted programs around.    

Carter will be representing Utopia Optics worldwide at a variety of mountain bike events, including the NORBA Nationals, World Cups, Sea Otter Classic, World Cup series, select Mega Avalanche races, as well as the World Championships.  Although recently regarded as a 4-Cross/MtnX specialist, Carter plans to compete for the coveted NORBA and US titles in both Mtn X and Downhill disciplines!

“I'm excited about being a part of the Utopia family, the product line is awesome, and they support the type of sports that I like to do and watch,” stated Carter.

In his earlier years, Carter was one of the fastest bmx racers around.  As a multi-time national & world bmx champion, Carter is regarded as a legend in the sport of bmx.  As he stepped up into mountain bike racing, his fierceness and competitive nature never lingered.  Carter continued to dominate as he won countless national and world cup championships from disciplines ranging from Dual Slalom, Dual, Mountain Cross, 4-Cross and Downhill.   One of his most recent career highlights includes his gold medal winning battle in the 2004 4-Cross World Championships in Les Gets, France.

Carter has taken upon the responsibilities as team manager for the factory Mongoose professional mountain bike team, as well as the Mongoose Tribe regional teams.  Renowned for his “intelligent” racing abilities, Carter will share his knowledge and attributes of racing to his teammates, and amateur racers alike.

Eric Carter is already respected as one of the world’s top mountain bike racers.  Still in his prime, Carter will continue to dominate each and every race he enters, regardless of competition.  Not only is he a sensational rider, Carter is a great ambassador to the sport as well as those associated with him.  Utopia Optics welcomes EC to the family and wishes him the best of luck this season!

Monterey, California, (April 12, 2006) -After a sensational `05 season, the Utopia Optics mountain bike teams continues their dominance in 2006! Under adverse conditions, the world`s fastest racers battled in mud-fested tracks at the Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California.

2005 Gravity Omnium (Overall) & Downhill Champion Jared Graves had another sensational weekend! Once again he has proven that he is a dominant force on the downhill circuit. Jared bested the best downhill racers in the globe, including the current World Downhill Champion Fabien Barel by 4 seconds! After capping of his weekend with a 3rd in Mountain Cross, Jared secured 2nd place overall in the Gravity Omnium competition.

In the women`s field, Sabrina Jonnier battled a fierce field to finish 2nd overall in the Gravity Omnium competition. Sabrina kicked off her weekend by securing a victory in the dual slalom & continued her success by landing on the podium at each discipline!

Newly signed dirt jumper / slopestyle rider Adam Hauck had an impressive team debut finishing 2nd in the Pro Dirt Jump Contest

Utopia would like to thank all the team riders for a truly successful season debut! Nathan Rennie, Mick Hannah, Jared Graves, Sabrina Jonnier are all set for an exciting 2006 season & are gearing up for their opportunity to challenge for the title in this year`s UCI World Cup Series championships.
