What inspires you to compete?
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. The accomplishment and knowing your results and where you stand. You can`t hide from those results. I`m a very competitive person in general and am always trying to test and challenge myself. The comraderie and competition with my fellow racers is enjoyable as well. I`ve met a ton of good people and close friends through racing moto-x and mountain bikes.
Some Personal Information About Me:
I`m a Senior Program Manager for a hi-tech data storage and networking company. I`ve worked in this position for 6 years. My hobbies include; moto-x, cycling, snowboarding, water skiing and wakeboarding, golf and tennis. My weekends are spent at the moto-x track or bicycling or surfing.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
I`m a very fitness oriented person in general. I train regularly 6 days per week with one day used for rest and catching up on errands. My workouts consist of; weight workouts tailored for MX 3-4 days per week, cardio 5-6 days per week, and moto-x riding/racing 3-4 days per week. I am also a cyclist and train on a road bike for a majority of my cardio. I also run at least 2 days per week. I`m an ex mountain bike racer that spent 3 years racing at the expert level in Colorado.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I have no motivation to grow up or should I say grow old! My passions now continue to be all the athletic activities that I enjoyed as a child and teenager. The day that comes when I can`t enjoy these activities is going to be a sad day for sure! Somehow I think when that day comes I`ll become an avid golfer.
How's Life Treating You?
Life is great! I`m fortunate that I have a career that I enjoy and that provides the financial means to support my hobbies and my lifestyle. I`m healthy and fit which allows me the freedom to enjoy most any athletic activity that I choose to participate in. For a 35 year old I look and act more like a 20 something. And that makes me feel great!
