Supermini!

April 21st is the day that the Doctor has said he's going to release me!  I go back for one more x-ray and provided I am completely healed, I am back on the MX track that weekend!  I am fresh and ready to go for another season of motocross!  It will be difficult to return to the level I was at when I went down, but I don't expect it to take me more than a few weeks to be running up front again.  Thanks to everybody for their support!  I will update you here after my first ride!

Two weeks ago at Mill Creek MX, Tucker broke his femur!  At the Goodtime National Championship, he was running in 8th place with three turns to go on the final lap and hit some HUGE breaking bumps.  He flipped and the femur snapped about 3 inches below the hip.  After being airlifted out of the track, he had surgery the following day where two pins were placed into the leg.  Unfortunately, due the location of the break there was an enormous amount of pain and he didn't get to come home for 4 days.

However, all that is over now and Tucker is home and improving quickly.  He anticipates being off the bike for approximately 3 months, but is anxious to ride again and continue with the enormous improvements he made in 2007.  Unfortunately, he is going into his 2nd straight year with an injury that prevents winter training, but he will bounce back and do great things!

Finally Getting Healthy!

2006 was a very challenging year for Tucker Cantrell.  After the last blog on this site, there was another broken collarbone after racing only 3 times after release from the Doctor.  That put him out for another 6 weeks in order to make 100% sure the bone healed this time!

Finally, as we rolled into December, Tucker was healed up and ready to roll and we were planning on doing all 4 Toyota Arenacross races in our region and making a run at the US Open in a new class.  That's when we found out that Tucker had a tumor in the growth plate of his hip.

The tumor was in a very difficult position and it had to come out.  Fortunately, we found out (after about 3 weeks of real intense worry), that the tumor was NOT cancerous.  Nonetheless, it needed to come out.  Tucker was once again sidelined!

On December 27th, Tucker underwent surgery with a very new procedure designed to minimize the invasiveness of the removal and allow him to get back on the track more quickly.  The surgery was a success and Tucker is now healing.  Within the next 2-3 weeks, Tucker will be back on the track again.

2006 was very challenging for Tucker and the family due to all of the injuries and tumor.  However, we feel blessed that Tucker has not been hurt seriously and that we have Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital right up the road from us!  Tucker is now getting ready to take off again and we plan to race almost every weekend in 2007!

Look out..... HERE HE COMES!  We're going to have a tremendous year and a ton of fun. Whether Tucker wins every race or no races, we are going to have a great year!  Sometimes, being faced with the possibilities of what could happen makes you appreciate things and not sweat the small stuff.  Tucker will be working hard and preparing to go big in 2007.  I hope you will come out and see him back on target!

Well, I have been able to practice for the past 3 weekends and have my first race back this Sunday!  After breaking my collar bone twice in one year, I am ready to be done with the injuries!  But, my sponsors have all worked with me and offered me great deals for 2007 so that's really awesome!  Look for my results this Monday after my first race in a couple of months!

Tucker Cantrell

Tucker Cantrell raced at Thrill Hill MX this weekend in Gadsden, Tennessee as part of the TMXA summer series. Tucker came out hard in the 65cc 7-9 by winning both motos and even racing well enough to finish 2nd in the 10-11 class (1 gate race) if he had been in it! In addition, Tucker had his best finish ever on the 85 CC bike with a 2nd place overall on a 3-2 moto. Overall, a great weekend for the Tucker Cantrell Racing team!

Tucker Cantrell broke his collarbone on June 17th and is out for 4-8 weeks.
