The race, which started at 9:45 a.m., had an entry field of 1,400 runners (pretty good for thanksgiving morning).  Got off to a good start 5:45, then backed off to a 6:00 with a strong head wind in my face.  I tried to tuck in behind some other runners but they kept falling back like a fat man in a marathon.  Third mile came in at a 5:55, I was now joined by two runners who I would stick with till the end of the race.  fourth mile split was a slow up-hill 6:03.  I ran my last mile in 5:28, out-kicking two other runners for a 14th place finish and a total time of 29:11.  Not to bad for my second 5 mile race.  I guess you could say I earned my turkey dinner.  Happy Thanksgiving!!

Today I had a great morning training run, 7 miles with 4x1200m @ 4:10 min, 4x200m @ 35 sec.  Back home to finish up some studying, of to the YMCA to get a short 2,000yd swim in, work for a few  hours, then a quick lift, and back home to finish up school work and then off to bed.
