Q&A - Matt Williams

Why do you compete?

Competition pushes me to test my own limits. Without competition I could just "settle" ... I don't like to settle.

Why do you like this sport?

Racing is just an amazing experience. It's about power, precision, focus ... you have to be consistent, think ahead and make smart decisions. It's like a 400 horsepower chess game with 3000 lb pawns.

Music?

I love music. I play several instruments including guitar, drums and ukulele. I've got a MP3 CD full of music I can drive to. It includes some really up-beat tracks like Rebublica's "Ready to Go" and Andrew W.K.'s "She is Beautiful," as well as some odd stuff like Styx's "Mr. Roboto."

How's Life Treating You?

Life is good. I've got a wonderful wife who supports my racing habits, so that's great. I just bought a house with a roomy garage for working on the car. I'm going to start my own tuning business soon to see how it goes. I'd love to turn my passion for speed in to something profitable.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Grow up? Yeah ... I'll get right on that.
