About Me

My background

I have always been a fairly athletic person. I have been playing soccer competitively my whole life, since I could first walk. Up until about ten years old I was a very avid runner. Sometimes I would run at recess instead of playing with the other kids. For my junior and senior years in high school I joined the swim team. I wasn't very good, but I really enjoyed it. Since then I've been swimming regularly on my own at college. I took up unicycling my freshman semester and continue to ride for pleasure.

Why tri?

I competed in my first triathlon (olympic distance) last year, with Kyle VP. He had signed up and wanted me to do it with him. I decided it would be cool, one of those things you do just to say you've done it. Despite minimal training and being sick the week of the race I finished 5th in my age group. It was one of the greatest feelings after that race. I loved the competition, with myself and others. I love the balance of it all. Excelling in just one discipline isn't enough, you need to be a balanced athelete. I'm addicted to the triathlon lifestyle.

Currenty

Working on rehabilitating my left knee. Doing my best to take things slow and not push myself too hard. It takes a lot of mental strength to not get out there with all the people around me and train hard.
