Adventure racing brings me to the outdoors – where I love to be. I enjoy the team aspect of the sport, seeing rarely traveled areas, and pushing myself to the limit physically and mentally.
Kimberly Dunkin

Kim is 38 and married to Phil. They have one son.
She is a part time karate teacher and stay at home mom. She loves competition more than anything and that is why she enjoys being on an adventure racing team.
In fact, she doesn't normally play video games, but was playing the nintendo ds. When asked
why?, she realized it was because it keeps up with the records and she is trying to take the #1 spot. If it didn't keep score, she wouldn't play.
Just like growing up you don't play catch. That is boring. It was always burn out.

Scott says,
Adventure racing brings together so many things in life that I find interesting and important. I am passionate about competing, challenging my limits, working with a team, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors.
AR brings together all those components, requires you to uses numerous skills, all while letting you enjoy some of the most beautiful terrain that you would otherwise not likely experience.
One of his strongest personal traits is a
Do not quit attitude. He has been hit by a car in a race while on the bike. He removed the front brake so the bike would roll... finished the race... then went to the hospital to get patched up.
