Q&A - Personal

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

Anytime I am accidently blunt and end up hurting someone's feelings.

Why do you like this sport?

The pretty cars I see that are complete from hard work and dedication.

Music?

Anything but country and I mean anything - you should listen to my iPod...

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Ya know I originally wanted to be an astronaut...that didn't work out...

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

I love to travel! At one point I took an almost 2 week road trip around the US (from Monterey, CA to Biloxi, MS back to Monterey, CA to Fayetteville, NC) OMG was it fun!

Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

By the suggestions by my hubby - he's my inspiration. Plus, I've always wanted to show my car and hook it up.

List your competitive highlights:

I just started so this one will be left a little bare.

What are you planning for next season?

To have my car looking nice enough to place, of course and have it to the kick-butt level to take on other cars(including my hubby's).

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

Personally? Getting promoted in the Air Force because I almost failed a PT test for the second time, but I worked on it and passed. From that I was able to get promoted from an E3(A1C-Airman 1st Class) to an E4(SrA-Senior Airman) which means I am working on my leadership skills in order to become an NCO(non-commisioned officer). Car wise, though, I think it was to take that step forward to work on my car in this male-dominant competition, since I'm just starting out.

Updates on my car( I do things to it about every two weeks - when I get paid :P)

-will take longer on the panels than i originally thought O~O

-will soon be getting drilled and slotted rotors, lowering springs, and racing seats w/in the next 2 mos

My Car Dream

My name is Loni, 23, married, and in the USAF. I bought my 2007 Meteorite Metallic Toyota Yaris HB about 2 years ago while I was stationed in Monterey, California.  A little while afterwards, I got the notion that it would look nice hooked up.  Plus you must admit, you do not see many Yaris' rolling around modified, so I wanted to make a statement that a car that saves gas money can kick some butt, too(I <3 my lil' car!).  After my husband joined the USAF and PCS'ed(permanent change of station, for you non-military folk out there ;P) to Pope AFB, NC with me, I started to modify my car since now I had the time and money.
So far I have a GReddy Ti-C axleback exhaust, Weapon-R Dragon Intake, Megan headers, an LED undercar kit that changes 7 different colors, painted panels, HP Racing 15" rims with Falken tires and a shiftknob that lights up different colors. It also has the standard VVT-i Toyota engine and it is stickshift. My car came with no options, except floor mats, so my hubby and I had a Pioneer deck installed, but that is nothing special.   Granted, all cars are not invicible to solid objects and all people are not perfect, so it has its dings from other cars and I need to replace the bumper for something small, that will be taken care of within the next 2-3 months.
I have some big plans for my car, some I can do on my own, while others I need help or will take a very long time of saving up.  During all this, I keep in mind that my car was not made to originally be hooked up, so modified parts for my car are very limited.  I plan to buy a car alarm, real performance brakes and pads, a wing, new wiper blades that I can paint green, a strut bar, lowering springs, new grill and change the headlights.  These are only a few small things that I'm certain I can afford, but there is more to my dream and most likely will need help with: turbocharger, Zyclone body kit(like one of 3-4 body kits made for my car:P), a custom made sound system that focuses on staying in the back with the amp and sub(will explain), NOS, a new interior (black with green highlights and four leaf clover motif), and a custom paint job(will explain).
For the sound system, I have a design in mind, but don't know if it'll work.  I want to have a 10" in the middle with 2-3 smaller speakers on each side of it, lining the walls, the spacing in between will be a green with the speakers are black.  The amp I haven't figure out yet.
My dream paint job, I think, is the most complicated thing I want done to my car.  I want it look like it has just drove through a field of four leaf clovers with celtic knot ropes spindling out going to the back to join into a celtic knot.  At the center of the knot there will be a custom badge in the shape a four leaf clover painted green, of course.
Now where I plan to go with my car is easy because my husband is already part of a real car club sponsored through a local dealership that goes to many local and national events, but since I lack a Scion (the club is Scion Customs), I'm only affiliated with the club through my hubby.  Also, I'm in the military and the car is driven everyday back and forth to work.  As you have read, I would like my car not only for show, but also for performance.
