Overview

How I got started

Hello, My name is Tevin Tapia Im 15 years old . I love sports but my biggest love is the sport of motocross. I`ve been racing since I was 4 yrs. old. with the instruction of my father/pro motocrosser Rod Tapia. Over the years I have won many races and experienced traveling and meeting awesome people throughout the Nation. I am working hard at achieving my goal, that is to win as many Amateur Nat`l titles as I can.

Goals for the Future

My Next season goals are much the same as every year. That is to win more Championships for Myself and all my sponsors. I also want to become more of an asset to the sport by being a good role model to others and just have fun doing my favorite thing ....MOTOCROSS! We will be selling everything here in Washington state and moving to Texas. This move will allow us to spend most the winter in SoCal again and be centrally located for all the events later in the year . Also when in Texas I will be able to ride much more. I hope to win everything in 2007 and then move to the "A" class after Lorettta`s. At this time I would like to ride amateur nationals as an "A" rider thru World Mini Las Vegas then Look to the AMA PRO OUTDOOR SERIES 2008! We will see.

Bio

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

I would have to say this year at Oak Hill GNC Final. On the start of the Supermini, I looped it. Someone actually got a picture of it.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

When I`m at home in Washington, I run everyday 5 Miles, do crunches, ride my bicycle and practice when I can. When I`m in California I ride almost EVERY day.

Competitive Highlights

So far this year I have won three National Championships. I also won two O.A. class championships in the Gold Cup Series in SoCal and at theNMA Grand National Championships in Ponca City, OK. this year I had many moto wins and just came short of several championships. In the past I have come very close to winning other championships. Such as 2nd overall in superpeewee at Ponca City NMA Grand National Championship 2001 and 3rd overall @ the AMA Amateur Nat`l championship in TN. I was the only KTM 50 7-8 on the line. The other 41 riders were all on COBRAS!! I also have many other top 10 national finishes over the years. In 2002 I won my first ever national moto At Branson Missouri USA National Championship. I went 2-1-10 in the 65cc open for 6th OA . Unfortunately the mud got the best of me in the final. 2003 had MAny moto wins and finished out the year with a 2nd and 3rd OA at the AMA amateur Championships at Loretta Lynns. 2004 Was my 1st year as a Team Green Rider. Unfortunatly I ended up injured at the beggining of the season . I broke my Femur into 5 pieces and was in a body cast and wheelchair for most the season. 2005 was a comback year and was up and down. Still with many top 10 finishes and several moto wins it took awhile to get back my strength and confidence. 2006 marked a whole new level of racing for me. I began to be home schooled so I could do more training and spend most of the winter in Sunny Southern California. I was able to get the quality ride and race time that I needed. This led to consistant top finishes at all the Amateur Nationals including the 3 Championships and many moto wins. Off the track I enjoy having fun and making as many friends as possible. I really love the races and enjoy all the people envolved. Its like a "good" family reunioun every week.
