Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

My Dad has been surfing in the esa since he was a kid and he placed 3rd in the east coast championship. So if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be surfing in contests.

List your competitive highlights:

Um. I don't totally understand this question.

What are you planning for next season?

I am planning On making it to regionals and hopefully some time in the future try to make it to hatteras. I just plan I doing good and having fun.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

Um. Im not sure but I think my biggest accomplishment was probably making it into the finals of my first contest ever. Even though I didn't win I was still amp'd.

Q&A - Personal

What inspires you to compete?

Just being in the water inspires me to compete. When ever I go surfing I just love being able to know that im part of something bigger then just surfing. In the esa im part of something big. And being able to surf against friends and make new ones is so much fun.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I would like to be either a marine biologist or director of photography. I would want to be a marine biologist because I am always in the water and I never want to leave. And I would also like to film it, but what ever happens in the end I will always be a surfer and hopefully I will have a chance to be a surfer for a living.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I do not train. If you train for such a unique sport like surfing then you are taking this sport way to seriously. Your style comes to you. If your training for a different style then you haven't gotten yours yet and you should keep looking. Surfing is a sport you should have fun in, try new things and always keep your eye out for your style. I surf everyday and I don't consider my surfing as training I consider it as recreation and play.

How's Life Treating You?

It's Great, Everyday I go to sleep im amp'd to see what tomorrow brings, because I know that tomorrow will be great. I just got three sponsors and my life is awesome at the moment.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

I love to travel. It's my favorite part about surfing. I love traveling to new spots with my dad and brothers that I've never seen before because it's so much fun to surf new breaks. Once I went to costa rica with my family and when we got there our boards and clothes never made it onto the plane so we spent 5 days in costa rica with one pair of clothes and we had to rent boards. Our boards finally came and and it was fun. The trip was great and so were the waves. Except for the huge spiders!! Haha.
