2004 Aug : Izumi started surfing. Izumi met Edrick inside Kaisers, and he became her surfing coach. 2004 Aug - 2006 Feb : Izumi had surfed longboard & funboard. 2004 Winter Izumi surfed Northshore first time. 2006 Feb : Izumi started to surf shortboard. 2006 Winter : Izumi started to surf Contest (HSA-Hawaii Surfing Association). 2007 Feb : Izumi got 1st 1st place on shortboard at Sandy Beach “HASA Contest”. 2007 May : Izumi got 3rd place on shortboard & 5th place on longboard at Ala Moana Bowls “HASA State Championship Contest”. 2007 Aug : Izumi got 1st & 2nd on Shortboard & 2nd on longboard at Kewalo’s “Girl Who Surf Contest”. 2008 May : Izumi got 2nd place on longboard at Ala Moana Bowls “HASA State Championship Contest”. 2008 May : Izumi got 3rd place on shortboard & 5th place on longboard at Queen “Freedom Surf Contest”. 2008 July : Izumi got 3rd place on shortboard at Ala Moana Bowls “Local Motion Surf Into Summer Contest”. 2008 Aug : Izumi got 4th place on longboard at Kewalo’s “Girl Who Surf Contest”. 2008 January : Izumi got a full 2 page spread article, picture & interview in WSSM(Women Surfing Style Magazine). 2008 Winter-2009 Spring : Izumi featured 3 times on FIHI Girlz TV (Interview from Local Motion Surf Into Summer Contest, Girl Who Surf Contest & Haleiwa International Contest). 2009 March : Izumi got an article on the American Boardsports Website, “BettyLife” 2009 April 8th: “Tidal 9 Women’s Pipeline Pro” Izumi made it to the money round(25th place), and received $450. She then turned professional on the WQS-the ASP World Qualifying Series on a shortboard at Pipeline . Izumi turned professional in 4 years & 8 month since she started surging. 2006 Winter ~ Now : Izumi got 1st place at Sandy Beach (4 times), Queens (1 time), Tennis Courts(2 times), Kewalo’s(3 times), Straightout(1 time).....in HSA Contest. 2009 May : Izumi got 3rd place on shortboard & 5th place on longboard at Queen “Freedom Surf Contest”. 2009 July : Izumi got 2nd place on “HASA State Championship Contest”
