Overview

How I got started

I started riding motor cycles(and skiing) when I was 5. As I got older I ran out of people to go riding with so I started riding mountain bikes. I road with my junior high bike club and got all the guys made at me cause I could keep up with and beat most of them on my fully rigid bike. In high school I started racing the local circuit but it wasn`t until college that I finally raced at Snow Summit. For eleven years I spent the winters ski racing. I love high speed sports that induce an adrenalin rush. Mountain bike racing remindes me of ski racing which I love but cant afford. I love single track but I have to keep reminding myself that the trees aren`t ski gates and that I can`t just push them out of my way. As of last year I am just now starting to like fire roads but I still prefer something more technical. It is an adventure to go out and find all the tecnical trails on every ride I take.

Goals for the Future

My primary goal is to turn pro in Super D by the end of the 2006 season and to Make it to all the NORBA national series races. In cross country I want to be a strong Expert category competitor by the middle of the 2006 season. In Short Track XC my goal is to become a competitive player by the middle of 2006. For Cyclocross I will be moving to the A field.

Bio

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

Summer 2005 I`m out riding with Pete on my then new bike at Mammoth Mountain. Everything is going sweet. My riding is awesome, I`m trying a little of everything. We go cut trail and ride strait down a hill for like 200-300 yards in deep pumice and all is well. Then we meet up with some of Pete`s buddies (Abe and Aaron) and get some coffee. Now I have a caffeine high. Life is good. Guys are cool and I`m not slowing them up at all. We go and ride the cut again. I got last. I got going REALLY FAST and nothing seamed to be slowing me down. I`m heading strait for the lower part of the trail. The guys are yelling at me to slow down and turn. I hit the trail. I hit the dirt, flip over and land on my feet looking back up the hill. First thought, is anything broken; second thought, is my bike okay......I check .......okay all`s good......the guys on the other hand are in a state of shock......jaws dropped.....ready to run over and pick up the pieces. I get my bike, get back on the trail and ride over to them. they are all like "are you okay" ,"do you want to go home?"," is, there anything we can do for you?".....No guys i`m fine....caffeine high is now gone but i`m good......lets go ride. Abe tells me that he would have gone home after something like that.......that`s cool....I`d rather keep riding. Now every time I see Pete or Abe at the bar or anywhere in town and I have a friend with me, we get to hear about my crash all over again. Yeah its a real great way of picking up guys...lets tell them about the time Heidi tried to kill her self on her bike on the bake side of Mammoth Mountain......oi! Thanks guys.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I like to dye my hair pink and a few other colors like blue. MY favorite color is blue but I wear a lot of pink. I am an Exercise Science major at Cal State San Bernardino, and I will be graduating in June of 06. After college I plan on traveling the US and possibly the world to compete in mountain bike races and to ski. I am odd and unique and continually surprise people with what I say and do.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I try to ride just about everyday when work schedule allows. At least twice a week I go for long road rides or trail rides (Sunday, Monday). Twice a week I go do hard and intense rides to work on my speed and strength (Tuesday, Thursday). During race weeks I typically keep things light and fun with one hard ride(Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday). The day after a race is either an off day or a light day on my road bike.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

Travel?! sign me up! Most of my traveling has been with my old high school ski team where we would routinely get kicked out of hotels.....why....two words `ski wax`..... and I would get lost with other teams. The boys on the other teams were cuter.....what can I say. But the guys always managed to change their hair color by the time we got anywhere, I waited till I had a shower to do my hair, and to change the level of clarity of the windows with gummy bears. I`ve had my skin color morphed a few times with markers....again, thanks guys. word to the wise don`t fall asleep on a bus on the way to a race. Most of my mtb travels have been uneventful due to the fact that I travel alone but I am taking applications for interesting travel buddies. Any takers?
