So my family and I took a bike ride around the neighborhood and I decided to take the 1988 Haro Master.  The tornado on his 16" Nyquist...

Anyway, I loved that master!  it's so heavy but felt so light to ride.. Seemed small, but didn't feel it when riding around.  I should really get my butt off the couch and fix it up.  Maybe even take it to the track.. as if I'll ever go back to that place!

:D

I think there's a bright future for NY01 district BMX judging from our  7&U kids.  Hunter handled his popped chain with more maturity than I think I could have and being so fast at such and young age and small size compared to the older kids he runs with.  And Nate with utter domination and a coolness and maturity way beyond his years.  Alex, Hayden and the rest.. it's very exciting to see full or nearly full gates at every race for the 7-5 year old groups, all of which show a sportsmanship that would make most of us adults blush.

Good work, kids!

Well, it's been a long time waiting and a lot of preparation, but it's great to have the 2008 season officially started.

It's a little disappointing and sobering to have this season start exactly how last season ended for me... with a big crash-but at least this time nothing became disconnected :).  I guess I'll have to bury those dreams of a national championship ;).

I definately need a LOT of work on those steep backsides, eh?

I was really comfortable on the new bike.  The track was slow, so it was hard to tell if the 190mm cranks were a good choice.

It's time to get rid of some of these extra parts, if I can.

Old GT seat post clamp. It's for 7/8ths, fit on my 88 master :S...

Others now on ebay...

Friend at work and I were talking and he mentioned he had an old hutch expert.

He sent me pics today. It's a 1982. I told him to think about selling it if he has no use for it. I personally would rather see his son at the track racing it on occasion!

(*) - considering replacements.

I've been getting a lot of my parts through these guys because they said they can get everything pretty quick and it's very close to work.  But, the owner there's a punk and I'm all done using them.  I think from now on, if possible, I'll order my stuff through CBW.  It's a trip up there, but they're very nice, small, and it gives me an excuse to eat some Aniellos!

I got the bike back from Corning Bike Works. They did a lot for the little bit they charged. Good work too.

Also, have new Grips on the way, since I melted my beloved Bell X-Games grips trying to get them off the old bars :(. I think Bell discontinued them. I'm so sad.

I also decided to use a stem I'd picked up a while ago (after seeing the sinz stuff is made in china). Turns out my haro sttem's face was not straight. I think this is why my bars felt bent.

It's almost ready. I had to take it to the shop to get the headset swapped.

In other news, I went for my first bike ride since the injuries today. Ton and I went around the block. The pain was bearable.
