Q&A - Personal

What inspires you to compete?

The pure adrenaline rush, the excitement, the speed and thrill of flying down the hills and pushing my body to the limit, knowing what I have achieved is because of purely myself. Also hearing the people in the crowd cheering you on while your speeding past them is awesome to.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

My most embarrassing moment was at Northstar's first race of the 2007 season. I was trying to jump over and clear a rock garden and was going to fast for the turn right after it, and hit the tree on the corner, braking my hydraulic brake line. I had no front or back brakes for the rest of the race, crashing eight more times after that because of to high of speed for some parts,my finish time was horrible but I still beat two other guys, which didn't make me feel as bad.

Describe your style...

I push myself farther than most people I know. I use every bit of strength in my body to do best in my races, and no matter how hard a course is or what malfunction occurs on my bike, I find a way to finish the race. It doesn't matter what I injure I will still finish, and when I do I can't help but smile, cause I achieve what most people don't even try for.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I would love to become a professional in mountain biking, but I will go for a degree in college for physiology or a degree in the medical field.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I do train often. I usually ride my bike everyday, everywhere to keep my legs in shape, and I'm constantly going up to the mountains to train on the trails.
