Overview How I got startedStarted racing Redline 20? Mini BMX bike October 2002 at the age of 4. During my first full race season, I had the privilege to race at several tracks: PAL Roadrunner BMX (Las Cruces, NM); Sun City BMX and Desert Downs BMX (El Paso, TX); Badlands BMX (Los Lunas, NM); Riverside BMX (Aztec, NM); Duke City BMX (Albuquerque, NM); and Durango BMX (Durango, CO). I competed in 1 Texas State Championship Qualifier race, 4 New Mexico State Championship Qualifier races, 1 New Mexico State Championship Final, 1 Redline Cup Qualifier (was eligible to compete in the Redline Cup Finals in DeSoto,TX), 1 Race For Life, the Southwest Nationals, and several local races. I received a special invitation to compete at the Race of Champions during the Grand Nationals November 27- 30, 2003.
For the 2004 Race season, I have competed in 4 Texas State Qualifiers, 6 Race for Life races, 6 National races, 3 New Mexico State Qualifiers, 2 Redline Cup Qualifiers, 1 New Mexico State Championship Final, and several single point races at various tracks such at Roadrunner BMX (Las Cruces, NM), Desert Downs and Sun City BMX (El Paso, TX), Cowtown BMX and Metroplex BMX (Dallas TX area), Manzanita BMX (Tucson, AZ), Black Canyon BMX (Phoenix, AZ), Riverside BMX (Aztec, NM), Badlands BMX (Los Lunas, NM), Duke City BMX (Albuquerque, NM), Cortez BMX (Cortez, CO), Durango BMX (Durango, CO), and Dacono BMX (Dacono, CO). I have my 2004 Moto Book available both electronically or hardcopy upon request. I also have video footage available upon request (though there is a reason my mom doesn?t work for a news network as a camera person). Goals for the FutureTo continue racing the 20 class and Cruiser class and win back the New Mexico State Championship, National races, Redline Cup races, District races, and obtain a NAG rating by continually improving my BMX racing skills. Bio What inspires you to compete? My dad started racing BMX with his co-workers when I was 3 years old. It looked like fun. I begged my parents to let me try. Finally, after I turned 4 years old, they let me try going around the track. I liked it so much that I started racing and haven`t stopped yet. Although my transition to expert has been a little difficult, I think I will be at the top of my game before this season is over. I also ride for 505 National trophy team. Some Personal Information About Me:I am a 9 year old Expert living in Las Cruces, NM. I am a former New Mexico State Champion 2 years running. I am in the 3rd grade at White Sands Elementary. I enjoy reading and playing baseball. I am a straight A student. My favorite TV shows include American Chopper, Dew Sports Tour, X-Games, and NASCAR races. My favorite movies include XXX, Fast and Furious, Days of Thunder, and Top Gun. I have an older sister who is a competition gymnast on all four events. I think it would be awesome if both of us made it into the olympics, she as a gymnast and me as a BMXer. I have helped bring in new riders into the sport of BMX. Do you train? What does your schedule look like?I just started taking gymnastics class to help with strength training. I am also training on rollers to help me get faster. Currently, our track is open for practice one day a week. While there, I work with various folks on skills such as gates, high low maneuvers, pumping, and manualing. At home, I practice jumping on dirt hills and ride for the fun of it. What do you want to be when you grow up?I would like to become an engineer and design my own motorcycles and cars or maybe even become a fighter pilot. Either way, I would also love the opportunity to become an AA Pro and share my experiences with kids. I really enjoy it when the pros treat me like a person. Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?Since my mom and dad also BMX, they ensure that our vacation time includes BMX events. Last year, we spent our vacation time in Durango, CO. We were able to attend two Race for Life double point events, two State Championship Qualifiers, one Earned Double, and one Redline Cup Qualifier. While in the area, we also road the train to SIlverton and back, hiked through Mesa Verde National Park, and rented a Jeep for the day and explored several of the 4x4 trails. This year, after attending the Super Nationals in DeSoto, TX, we went to my first Major League Baseball game and saw the Red Sox vs. the Texas Rangers. We also spent a day at Six Flags Over Texas and another day at Hurricane Harbor. Competitive Highlights
