FAQ's For SponsorHouse Members. What's Loop'd?

Here are some FAQ's for those SponsorHouse.com members that logged into their accounts on Monday, August 27th and noticed this crazy Loop'd logo at the top of their site...

Why is there a Loop’d logo at the top of SponsorHouse now and what is it?
SponsorHouse is now a part of the Loop’d Network. In short, we’ve taken everything we’ve learned over the past six years, turned the focus on SponsorHouse back to sponsorship, and launched a cool new sports network called Loop’d. There is a ton of new features and benefits with Loop’d for all you athletes and teams, including additional exposure opportunities for you and your sponsors. For companies, it’s a way to promote your brand, products, and services through your sponsored athletes to all the fans and enthusiasts on Loop’d. Go explore and use it!!

Why should I care about Loop’d?
SponsorHouse is all about helping athletes promote themselves, find sponsors and promote their sponsors so we built a sports network to help them do that.  Get more exposure for yourself and for your sponsors by joining communities on the Loop’d Network.  Some of your sponsors will have communities of their own (like Monster Energy has with MonsterArmy.com) where you’ll get even more exposure.  The more exposure you get and the more you do to promote your sponsors, the more valuable you become to sponsors and ultimately… you’ll get better sponsorship deals.

Did you guys sell out?
Nope.  SponsorHouse and Loop’d are still owned and managed by the same group of people that started it all back in 2001. We’re just making things better.

Why now?
With MySpace and Facebook has come an entire revolution around connecting with people online.  Loop’d will be the place where people connect around the sports they love.  We saw the need for this in 2001 when we launched SponsorHouse as a way for athletes and sponsors to connect with each other online (rather than the snail mail, fax or endless phone calls).  As we evolved as a company, we saw people using SponsorHouse as a way to not only connect through sponsorship, but for athletes to connect with each other and with their friends and fans.  We also saw something cool happening with brands – they were creating and engaging communities of people that used and endorsed their product – not in an advertising way, but in an authentic way that helped both them and the athletes they support.

As the site was evolving, the sponsorship aspect of the site started to get overpowered by the social networking aspect of the site, so we came to the decision to keep SponsorHouse focused on sponsorship and make it part of a larger sports network where people could do all of the other ‘social networking’ stuff.  That network, launched on August 27, 2007 is called Loop’d.   With Loop’d, there is a way for athletes to get more exposure and build up a fan base without diluting the power of the sponsorship management tools on SponsorHouse, which will remain a core aspect of the network.  As we launch communities for companies to promote their sponsored athletes (like Monsterarmy.com) or to hold rider search contests (like OakleyRiderSearch.com), we are creating a larger audience for athletes to promote themselves, promote their sponsors and ultimately progress their career.

What’s Next?
As the Loop’d Network grows, athletes and companies alike will be given more outlets for exposure, but SponsorHouse will still be the place where they connect and do business.  SponsorHouse is now a community on Loop’d of athletes looking for sponsorship and companies looking to sponsor and/or connect with them.  We will continue on our quest to forever improve the service and the sponsorship management tools we pioneered back in 2001 and will always make every decision based on the wants and needs of our core customers:  You.
