So my birthday proved to be very awsome. Got pleanty of new parts and accesories that I have been wanting for quite some time. My bike is a Mongoose Wing Elite Pro, is about seven years old, and has been in deperate need of repair for a while. This birthday my wife was the real hero and savior and got me a Brand new 100mm Travel Rock Shox Argyle front fork with a 20mm thrue axle. Its a dirt jump, and free ride fork. This fork should hold up nicely at all the back country style trails I ride along with all the nasty jumps and drops i like to take. This has been a long time comming, since the fork I have on their now seems to be leaking oil, and has never been serviced in the ten years the bike has been around Also i think this will hold up pretty well at Mountain Creek Diablo due to its "beefyness'.
The last part I recieved was a brand new set of Race face Ride DH cranks to replace the old, tire and bent craks I have on there now. These have only two rings plus a nice sturdy bash guard, whiich should give me about another inch of clearence under my crank case. My old cranks were by Truvative and did hold up for a while quite nicely. However now the third big ring on the crank is bent beyond repair ,the crank arms themselves need constant tightening to ensure they do not fall off in the middle of my ride and they keep producing a terrible squeeking noise which eventually would have driven me crazy.
The third coolest item i recieved was a gift to my self. I bought a new set og Sun Ringle Equilizer rims complete with Demon hubs. These rims are DH specific which means the should hold up alot better than the shitty Alex XC rims i have on there now. Im hoping the amount of times I have to keep returning to the bike shop to get my rims trued will go down to abot once or twice a season.
These parts combined with the cool ass 661 pads my buddy Brian got for me should make my riding way more enjoyable and much more fun. This definitly was the coolest birthday I had in a long time. My friends and my wife especially rock the house big time with there unyielding support and interest in my hobby. Love you you guys a bunch!!!
