Hello,

My name is David Milburn, I have been around Dirt Track Racing my whole life. My mom was the track photographer at a bunch of tracks over the years until her cancer took her in 2001. My dad raced for a few years. Thats where my car number came from 96JR.

I started racing about four years ago at East Lincoln Motor Speedway in the SSV8 division. I was the track photographer there but just couldn't resist the urge to race. My first Race Car was a 1975 Nova, I worked on it all year long. Stripped parts off of the truck that I was driving at the time to finnish it so I could go racing. I raced the last two races of the season and was hooked from the first lap!!!!!!! My best finnish my first full year was 7th.

Now I compete in a mid 80's Buick Reagal in the Limited Sportsman division at two different tracks, Thunder Valley Speedway in Laundale N.C. on Friday nights and Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney S.C. on Saturday nights. I alternate racing at these tracks, a couple races at Thunder Valley and then a couple races at Cherokee. My best finnish at these tracks so far is 5th place at both. I would love to race at both tracks every weekend.

My goal for the future is to work my way up into driving a Crate Late Model. Travel to some other tracks with a series like they have now. (FAST TRACK SERIES) If I can find the right sponsors. This is a verry competitive division, where you finnish depends on driving ability and set up, Motors are eaqual.

Right now weekly entry fee's, travel expenses and car upkeep are my key problems. Most of all is tires, Depending on track conditions usually I can run the rear tires about 4 or 5 races. To compete weekly I would need to change them at least every two races, dry slick nights would require changing them after just one race. Thats not to say I wouldn't take on some product sponsors.

I would be willing to hand out any flyers, cupons, or free products at the track. Also I will give the announcer your company name to announce when he or she is calling me out to line up. I can also have team shirts made for me and my pit crew with all of my sponsors on them, to wear through the week and at the track.

I plan to build a new car from scratch for the 2008 season. Everything I have driven so far has been raced by someone else in the past. My first car had at least 4 other owners that I know of.  I hope to keep the car I have now to maybe compete with it in the Renegade division and compete in Limited Sportsman division with the new car in one night.

Thanks to my dad David and my uncle Johnny who have helped me alot with my racing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to give a special thanks to my wife Barbara and my son Alex for putting up with my racing habbit.
