My name is Steven M. Bisig. I am currently 24 years of age and race in the ABA 21-25 Cruiser classification. I currently live in the great Pacific Northwest, home of some of the best bicycle racers in the world.
I have been racing bikes since about the age of 11. I started racing cross-country mountain bikes and later moved over to the adrenalin rush of downhill racing where I made it to the ranks of Jr. Expert.
Due to the costs of downhill racing, I moved back to BMX racing where I have been racing ever since. As you read below, I am a very determined rider with goals. I have a very professional attitude, especially around the younger generation of our sport. The young riders are the future of our sport, in my mind; I need to be a role model.
2006 Accomplishments
The 2006 season went very well for me. I set goals at the beginning of the season, and I accomplished them. My number one goal for the season was to win the overall Washington State Championship Title and that’s just what I did.
Another big goal for the season was to qualify for a main event at an ABA National. Well, I raced a total of 8 ABA National days in 2006 and I qualified for the Main Event in all 8 races. I would say that I accomplished that goal and some.
The last goal for the 2006 Season was to finish the season in the top ten in my district. The official season is over in mid December and currently I’m sitting in 10th place with many races to go. I still feel strong here in the latter part of the season, so I am very confident that I will accomplish this goal as well.
What I’m Looking for from 2007 Sponsors
What I am looking for in a sponsorship for the 2007 race season is free or discounted product. I realize that your company receives several sponsorship resumes and that marketing budgets are not bottomless. I will appreciate any help possible for the 2007 season.
How Will I Promote Your Company
I will promote your company in the most professional way that I can.
I will always recommend your product to anyone I talk to. I will display banners at races, decals on my bike(s) and vehicle. I will showcase your logo on my jersey and wear your logo on a day-to-day bases (I.e. t-shirts, sweatshirts).
I own a film company (Lahar Films) on the side for fun and extra income to help support racing. I will display your logo on any bicycle film that I produce. I will also showcase you logo on my vehicle, which frequently is showcased in automotive magazines.
All in all, I truly believe in you product line, and I will promote it to my best ability.
2007 Season Itinerary and Goals
Now that I have accomplished the small goals this past season, I have set new, bigger goals for the upcoming 2007 season.
My number one goal for the 2007 season is to qualify for the 2007 UCI BMX World Championships in Victoria, BCCanada. Victoria is only a couple hours away from my house, so this gives me a once in a lifetime chance to show the world what I can do. Qualifying for the Worlds will require me to travel out of the Pacific Northwest to a NBL race and try at the qualification process. More then likely this race will be the NBL race held at this upcoming Sea Otter Classic.
My other big goal for the season is to place in the overall top 20 in the Nation in my age group. To do this I plan on racing the following ABA Nationals:
Jan 5-7 Silver Dollar Nationals Reno, NV
Mar 9-11 Great Northwest Nationals Pasco, WA
Apr 20-22 US Nationals Bakersfield, CA
May 11-13 NOR-CAL Nationals Roseville, CA
Jun 29- Jul 1 Great Salt Lake Nationals
Aug 31- Sep 2 Black Jack Nationals Reno, NV
Nov 23 Race of Champions Tulsa, OK
Nov 24-25 2007 ABA Grand Nationals Tulsa, OK
In addition to the races above, I will be racing select NBL Sanctioned Nationals as well as the Washington State Championship Series, and many local races to stay in shape.
The last goal is to get in the best shape possible by training my butt of this winter. My goal is to get as strong as possible but stay light as possible. By doing this, I will be spending several hours in the gym every week right up to the first ABA National in January.
After the beginning of the ABA National Series, I will be toning my work out program to prevent over training. At this point, I will be concentrating my time at the local BMX tracks and as well as coaching the local kids in fitness.
Thank you for taking the time to look over my Sponsorship Resume. I hope that we can work together for the remainder of the 2006 and the
2007 Race Season. If you have any questions, you can reach me via the phone or email listed below. Again thank you for your time.
