Overview

How I got started

In the late 80s to early 90s, I used to compete in bicycle velodrome racing & roadracing. Six months after learning how to ride a motorcycle (in 1999), I participated in my first trackday. After watching a weekend of WMRRA racing, I was hooked - I signed up for my Novice race license with WMRRA in 2000.

Goals for the Future

My plans are to continue racing 600 Supersport, 600 Superbike, & 750 Supersport with WMRRA, & shoot for eventually finishing in the top 5 in these classes. In 2009, I have tenatively planned to run several OMRRA Rounds as well as at least one WERA-West Round (funds permitting).  I`m also working towards achieving the results needed to apply for an AMA Pro license sometime in the near future.

What inspires you to compete?

Motorcycle racing is mentally challenging as well as physically challenging. The ability to get out on the track and push these barriers is what inspires me to compete. Likewise, racing elbow-to-elbow with your friends at over 150mph is an experience hard to match! I`ve become part of a very diverse and close knit family that celebrates in each others` accomplishments & motivates one another to keep racing.

Some Personal Information About Me:

Occupation: ICU RN at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle --Previously worked as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) for 5 years - and picked up some of my own friends off of the race track! --Served in the US Army as a Medic & Signal Core technician for 6 years

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

Before the 2006 season, I trained as much as I could between work hours. This included running, bicycling, and using my old nursing text books & my spare wheels for weight lifting in my apartment (literally)! My plan is to get started early, and do more of the same type of training between my variable work schedule (night shift).  Likewise, I have started to learn how to ride dirt bikes, & I'm planning on using this type of riding for winter-time cross training.
