On June 21 I was involved in a very unfortunate accident. While riding my motorcycle shortly before dark, a 5 ton dumptruck pulling a double axle trailer failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled in front of me. To avoid a head on colision I made the quick decision to lay the bike down and slide into the trailer. This decision most likely saved my life however it resulted in a compound fracture of my right feamur and a ton of road rash on my left leg. In addition the trailer ran over my let foot resulting in a whole lot of swelling but no broken bones. The Surgon who installed the Ti plate in my right leg tells me it will be 2 months before I can walk again and several more month before I am fully recovered. This no doubt puts an end to my season however I hope to perhapse race an XC race before the end of the season. Untill then, once the stiches are removed I will continue to swim which will keep up my fitness level and provide an additional level of rehabilitation.

For now a special thanks to all the people who visited me in the hospital and have sent me wishes of a speedy recovery. And thanks again to all my sponsors who gave me the opportunity to race for them this season. Stickers from all my sponsors adorn my krutches and big new knee brace and I jole that they are my racing krutches.
