Overview

How I got started

I have been riding MX bikes since just before I was 3. My first race was in 1981. I had a successful amatuer career winning 4 national titles in 1987 and 1988. I then raced 125 Pro from 1989 through 1993 with many top tens and one podium. When I started dental school in 1994, I put my racing on hold until 2003.

Goals for the Future

I want at least one more AMA national championship win.

Bio

Why do you like this sport?

The MX community is a true family.

Some Personal Information About Me:

Riding since just days before I turned 3, I never enjoyed anything growing up like I did twisting the throttle.  Between 1982 and 1988 I had a successful amateur carreer that included 2 B class titles at Loretta Lynn's and one title and a second place in the A class at Loretta Lynn's.  In 1987 I won the Olympiad Championship in the 250 B class.  After 5 years pro with several top 10 finishes and one 3rd place at the Pontiac SX, I entered Dental School and put racing on hold until 2004.  Since then, I have returned to LL's to get two 7th place finishes in 2006, in the Vet 30 Plus and the Vet 35 Plus.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I am a dentist. This allows me to work 4 days each week. I usually get at least 45 minutes on the eliptical 3 times each week, in addition to, a light weight training program 2 to 3 times each week. Weather permitting, I get at least one day of practice each week.

Why do you compete?

MX has been one of my passions in life since I was a child.
