Will Scharninghausen :20 PromoHuck'N Teaser. Me And Ethan30 Foot Gap. Will Scharninghausen Goes 1st Ethan Brafford 2ndQ&A - Personal
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I would love to be pro, but I think right now I'd like to be either a Realtor, a Stock Broker, or a Fireman. I'm still young, I've got time.
Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?
Yeah I definitely love to travel, probably my favorite travel story was on the way up to Whistler last summer I brought my PS2 along and played Guitar Hero the whole way from San Francisco, California to Whistler, BC.
Describe your style...
I like going big with some style, and I like going fast. I also would like to admit that I tend to get over excited at races, and either showoff or crash, but most of the time the second one is a direct result of the first.
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
This year at the Sea Otter Classic, I was racing in my first Junior Expert race, and I threw a sick 90 whip on the 4th jump at the top of the course, and fell in front of 300 fans. Then fell again about 500 feet down the course, giving me a horrible time of 3:12, and good enough for a 71st place finish. Not something I would ever like to talk about again.
Some Personal Information About Me:
I love my life, I have a supportive family, a sick bike, some sick sponsors like Marzocchi USA, and outside of SH.com, 661, Royal, Azonic, and Evomo. And I have a totally awesome Girlfriend. So Life's Good.

Q&A Part 1
How Did You Start Riding MTB?
Well I first got into the idea of jumping my bike back in 2005 between 8th grade and my freshman year of highschool. But all of my friends started jumping and eventually all got new mountain bikes, so I took my hybrid out of the garage and learned how to jump. Then in August of 2005 I got my first XC mountain bike, and by December I had broken that bike and had purchased my first DH bike, a 2005 Giant Faith 3. And the rest is pretty much history.
How long did it take before you really felt confident about youself as a rider?
Oh well, I guess about almost a year after I got my Giant Faith. I remember there was this 30 foot stepdown that I had never hit before, and I slayed it first time, and then I made the decision that I wanted to excel in Freeride.
What got you stoked to ride and go big?
Three Words. New World Disorder. But seriously, I had gone over a year into my riding career without ever watching an MTB film, and once I saw NWD6, thats when I decided I needed to start hitting bigger gaps.
Any particular segment that inspired you in NWD6?
Yeah, definitely Carlin Dunne's seggie with Holy Diver by DIO. Just seeing him send those hucks was something I will never forget.
Lastly, Why Do You Love MTB?
I love mountain biking because I feel that I can express myself completely through all aspects of the sport. I feel that I can ride how I want, and still attract positive attention to myself and gain respect from other riders as well as spectators.
