Q&A - Personal
Why do you like this sport?
I don't like this sport, I LOVE this sport. The skill required, the intense focus, the adrenaline, the level of dedication, are things that are not recognised by people who don't understand or know this sport. These are just a few of the things that draw me to this sport.
What inspires you to compete?
I have always been competitive. I hate to be average at anything. I have played team sports before and always pushed myself, but you can't account for your team mates. Motorcycle racing is all about me and the effort I put into it. If I don't do well, it is my fault. I compete to get better, to get faster, to be at the top. I compete because it makes me feel alive.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I don't want to grow up!!!!
How's Life Treating You?
Life has been hard lately, but I have done everything I can to continue racing. That appears to be a standard amongst my fellow racers. The economy has been evident by the numbers on the grid. But the ones that are left and have stuck the season out, have struggled and fought to continue racing.
Describe your style...
My style is aggressive, but safe. I push myself as hard as I can to improve, and pick apart my performance so that I might learn for next time, learn where I can go faster, where I can shave of time. I am never happy with my performance, I believe that if you accept a half decent performance you only get half decent results.
