Joshua DeBenedetto Wins his Series

Congrats to Joshua DeBenedetto for winning the Southern Dirt in his classes!!

"Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd let you know I'm the Southern Dirt Super Series Champion for Mx Lites C and for Unlimited AM/C.

I also went to the Southeast area qualifier at Lazy River Mx in Georgia. I got fifth in Mx Lites Stock, eighth in Mx C Mod, I took overall 12th in MX C but I had an 11th and a 7th in my motos. So I for sure qualified for the regional in MX Lites Mod and Stock. I was only 2 places out in MX C so I probably will get to try to qualify in that as well.

I've been racing alot this year so check out my results page.

Thanks again for everyones support this year.

Josh DeBenedetto #70"

RXR Protect signs Australian DH wonder Will Rischbieth

Everyone at RXR Protect is excited to announce the signing of rising young Australian Downhill star Will Rischbieth to the RXR Bike team.  At 18 years of age, after numerous successes in U-19 competitions, Will, a native of Southern Australia, is turning pro and looking forward to a successful rookie season in the 2008 Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.

Rischbieth, perhaps one of the most naturally talented youngsters in the world of downhill was diagnosed with a congenital defect in his back in 2004 (with symptoms similar to a permanent stress fracture in his vertebrae) and thought his sporting career was over. Less than 4 years later, this heartbreaking diagnosis has proven to be the catalyst in the 18-year-old’s meteoric rise to the top of Australian and world mountain biking. Member of the 2007 Australian world junior men’s team Will already counts a few titles including 2007 U-19 Downhill Australia champion, as well as 2007 UCI Oceania U-19 champion.

Fresh from a Top 3 in the Australian downhill championship, Will is on his way to the 2008 Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, starting with the first round in Maribor, Slovenia, on May 10th.

Will’s sponsors in addition to RXR Protect include Giant, Ogio.
