What inspires you to compete?
I've always been somewhat competitive, even during non-competitive activities. As a child and into my early adult years I was always a bit shy, competition allowed me to say things about myself I couldn't say otherwise.
Why do you like this sport?
Mountain biking was a natural progression for me. Having raced BMX from 1984-1986 mountain biking was the next step. Add to that, being tall my body adapted and fit the bikes a lot better than a 20" bike. Aside from the competitive nature of the sport it's also theraputic and one of the best ways to see things (nature) that I wouldn't experience otherwise.
Describe your style...
It depends on the bike I'm riding at the time. If I'm on a 6.5" travel bike I tend to be more aggressive and let the bike make up for mistakes made riding in this manner. I think I have good flow that comes from a good BMX base.
