2009 Lumberjack 100 Fundraiser to Cure Multiple SclerosisMy name is Josh Radi. On June 20, 2009 I will be racing a 100 mile mountain bike race in northern Michigan. The event is called the Lumberjack 100. With the help of my sponsor Pedaling with a purpose, I am attempting to raise $10,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. This money will be used to further M.S. research, and expand services provided to those afflicted with the disease. I have been personally driven to help find a cure for M.S. ever since my mom was diagnosed in 2005. A woman, who had lived 38 years with relatively well health, is now faced with the reality that at any time in the future, she will no longer have the ability to walk. This is a very real disease, and by imagining what life would be like without having the ability to walk, each of us athletes should understand the implications. This would inhibit most of us from participating in each of our beloved sports. Our lives would be drastically altered. This is the case for many people, and my goal is to do what I can to give them hope for a cure. Please visit the donation page for more details and give whatever you can. Also, by showing your friends and family this email, you increase the liklihood that we will find a cure. Your help is greatly appreciated. http://www.active.com/donate/nmss Thank you very much, Josh Radi
