What inspires you to compete?
I love the human element of competition. Since I was a little kid, I was heavily into sports. I don`t mind losing to a better competitor but I do hate losing in general. More than anything, I race to see how well I can do against whatever competition shows up that weekend, and against standards and goals I have set for myself.
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
After getting my first Pro license in 2000, I traveled to Pocono for my very first Pro event, a Formula USA event. Unfortunately, in the first practice session, before even getting up to speed, I grazed the wall on the main straight, busted open my engine case, and oiled down the entire main straightaway. I`m just happy no one crashed. I apologized to the entire race field at the riders meeting but I still felt like an idiot. This is the type of deal that keeps you humble. Everyone makes mistakes.
Some Personal Information About Me:
I have been able to have some degree of success in just about everything I have tried. I work hard to succeed.
Music?
I can and do appreciate just about any music. I can play guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and I have can sing a little. Would love to be working on some tunes but I just don't have time to do it all.
How's Life Treating You?
Life is great! Life can`t be too bad when you have a job that pays you enough to race, when you have people who love and care about you, and you have a great future ahead of you. Since I got divorced, I do not have the enough opportunities to spend time with my 18 year old son, Alex, who I love very much. Sometimes a break-up like that one is very hard on a kid. I think deep-down, he knows that I love him and care about him very much.
