Q&A - Self Interview
So what do you hope to accomplish by racing?
I hope to claw my way through the ranks and governing bodies to land a full-time job racing?
At 32, isn't it a little late in the game?
All the more reason to prove the nay-sayers wrong. Do I wish I had found this sport sooner....of course? However, a few years ago, I didn't even know how to start a motorcycle and now I am a licensed racer. Even if I don't fully reach my dreams, I will have the memories to reflect on.....thinking to myself....what a ride! Just thinking about it brings a smile to my face.
What is one key factor to reaching your dream?
I believe surrounding myself with people I can trust, who are willing to provide honest feedback. The local racers and shops have been great at giving advice, but I am looking to find someone who is willing to devote as much effort to me as I am to the sport. I'm even open to doing a 30night/day boot camp at the track going over theories, lines, lap-times, and setup....leaving just enough time for a quick break. Where you are so sore and tired, that you need help getting on/off the bike.
C'mon nobody rides that much?
I'm serious. To give you an example I missed 2 days last year riding 40 miles one-way to work due to ice on the roads. Every ride is a chance to get to know the bike better. My 2001 R1 has over 67k miles and my 2002 R6 has 40k miles......both seeing the track frequently.
Any techniques you would like to share?
When not riding, I do a lot of deep visualization and keep a video of every track I have been to. I watch over and over and then visualize riding the same track. I incorporate everything from how the winds feels, the bumps on the track, to the vibration from the engine at 11k....the more details the better.

Q&A - Personal
What inspires you to compete?
I've always had the desire to compete... growing up I always choose sports that required physical attributes I didn't have. Basketball...too short....football...not big enough. I realized that racing was my equalizer to compete and not have to be concerned with being the tallest or strongest.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
I work 8-5pm and then go to the gym for 2 hrs after work, where I swim Mondays and Fridays and play racquetball Tuesday and Thursday. Been thinking about adding some weight training but not sure what I want to give up
Music?
I love all kinds of music from Live - Lightning crashes to John Legend - Ordinary People
