Coppenhagen, Denmark: The first Supercross race of 2009 took place under much better weather than the previous year, and with the Redline Global Team out in full force – from Italy to America, Australia to The Netherlands, France to Japan, the leading brand of BMX race bikes went to Denmark hoping for a good showing in the finals. First up, came the Time Trials. And of the top 20, seven were aboard Redline Flight bikes – including No.2 ranked speedster Manuel DeVecchi and No.3 fastest Damien Godet.
“I did the best time of the first lap here in Copenhagen,” Redline’s Italian Stallion, Manuel DeVecchi, told us. “But the UCi changed the rules and didn't let the top 32 riders after the first lap do a second lap. They said that the top 32 were already qualified and their positions were fixed. So, me first and Damien second – we thought. After all the other riders did the second lap, they combined the results and France’s Cayleron did better than me and stole my first place. It's fine, but does not seem fair because I didn't have my chance to improve my lap. And normally the second lap is always faster than the first one.” Dutch riders van der Biezen, van der Putten, Scherpen and DeWilde were ranked all 10, 12, 17 and 18 (in that order). And impressively, Redline’s All-American Kid Denzel Stein took the 15th spot in Time Trials - making him the second fastest American and only one of three U.S. riders in the Top-20. By the end of the weekend, Stein was hoping to change the name of this country to Den”zel”mark with a podium finish, but after winning his first moto, a major crash in round 2 ended his weekend abruptly. Once back in the States, Denzel verified that he was OK – and that his crash was probably the hardest bail he’s ever taken in his BMX career. “He was pretty loopy the rest of the weekend,” texted Redline’s Alise Post, when giving us an update of the action.
Speaking of Redline’s Alise Post, she took the 8th quickest time in the ladies Time Trials and was the second fastest American gal. Coming off of her double wins in Bakersfield, Alise went in to this race feelin’ confident. She was haulin’ in her three semi’s but with a not-so-hot start, got balled up by a group of girls and lost all of her momentum for jumping by them on the remainder of the burly course.
During Mens qualifying, Godet continued his hot laps and won every moto. Moto 5, in particular, was packed with Redline global riders – including DeVecchi, Robert DeWilde and Denzel Stein; who each scored at least one moto win – and two of them getting carted off to the medical aid station. Despite a 3rd moto crash for Italy’s No.1 guy, he still had low enough points to move on to quarters. “I crashed very bad during the third moto,” said Devecchi. “The Russian rider Komarov, jumped completely out of balance and came over on to me on the second jump. We both crashed but I had the worst consequences. I hit my head on the asphalt and lost consciousness for few minutes. I woke up with my left hand broken. It's nothing serious but I have to recover for a month. I can't go to races in this period but I can train my legs in gym. It was really a shame,” admitted DeVecchi sadly, “because I felt I was one of the fastest guys on the track and had trained very hard for this. …but that's BMX.”
Redline’s Damien Godet almost didn’t make it out of his 1/4, either. “I felt great during the competition,” Godet told us afterwards. “But in my quarter, I had a bad gate. Since I was starting from lane 1, I made an inside move in the first corner, only to touch Bradford and unclip! I wasn't fast down the second straight and it was very close! I don't know how I did it – but I avoided a crash and took 4th to move on to the semis.” Meanwhile, an incredible total of six Dutch riders had moved on to the semi’s – which would see 2 eliminated. Just like the past four rounds of the Euro Champ series, Redline’s Global Team had the odds in their favor for the finale’. With 5 Redline’s out of 8 in the main (four of them being Dutch dominators), chances were good for a podium sweep. And with half the gate aboard orange Redline Flight bikes, there was an even better chance for a full Dutch podium. In the end, it was the 666 of “Evil” IVO van der PUTTON scoring the huge victory, closely followed by MARTIJN SCHERPEN.com and Redline’s Olympian Frenchmen DAMIEN GODET with the third. Fellow Dutchman RAYMON van der BIEZEN placed 4th - making it a top-4 Redline sweep, and SANDER BISSELING rounding things out in the 6-spot. Damien summed up the main event from his perspective: ”In the main, I had a good first straight and I was in fourth after the first turn. I had a lot of speed and over-shot the doubles a littlee bit on the 2nd straight. In the second turn, I came back on Nhlapo and blocked him up high. I was in 2nd for just a second, but Scherpen - who was 4th, had more speed and passed me before the third stretch. From there, I kept the 3 spot to the finish line !”
Dutch National Coach Bas DeBever was ecstatic with the finishes. “The dutch crew was on fire!,” Bas said proudly. “Ivo was ‘feelin' it’ all weekend long, In the finals he was strong out of the gate together with teammate Martijn Scherpen and Sifiso Nhlapo. Ivo took the lead over the second jump and from there, never looked back. Martijn was following close and got 2nd after a nice swoop in turn two. Raymon van der Biezen and Sander Bisseling were battling hard end and ended up in 4th (Raymon) and 6th (Sander). The whole team was, just like last week, feeling good.” Elite Men results: 1 Ivo van der Putten (Dutch-Redline) 2 Martijn Scherpen (Dutch-Redline) 3 Damien Godet (France-Redline) 4 Raymon van der Biezen (Dutch-Redline) 5 Sifiso Nhlapo (So.Africa) 6 Sander Bisselling (Dutch-Redline) 7 Michal Prokop (Czech) 8 Roger Rinderknecht (Swiss) “I was just feeling great the last few weeks,” winner Ivo van der Putten told FatBMX.com. “We’d been in France for 45 days, we all came back stronger. Qualifying in12th was really not too bad. For how important the gate pick was, lane 1 was narrow. The best places were 2, 3 or 4. I think not too far on the outside, so you had to be in the top 2 in previous races for a good gate pick. The big jumps are not the problem. The speed is much higher because of the giant hill. That's what makes SX so different. It’s another level of BMX racing, completely. You either like it or not. And I love it.” Definitely not a bad Supercross for Redline and the Dutch - as well as France’s Godet - who had qualified 3rd-fastest in Time Trials. This was the first time a single brand of bike has taken the entire podium (let alone all Top-4 positions) at a UCi Supercross event. “I definitely love SX tracks,” exclaimed third place finisher Godet. “Fast and big!” Congrats to the entire Redline Global team for a job well done.

Bakersifeld, CA:With a tally of 3-3-1 in Saturday’s AA-pro mains, DENZEL STEIN scored a sweet victory in Bakersfield at the ABA U.S. Nationals. With lane 1 for the third and final main, he’d mumbled under his breath – “I think I can win this one.” Sure enough, Stein laid down his horsepower and took it from start to finish, while Olympic Gold medalist and low-points leader Maris Stromsberg got squeezed out of contention and wound up 8th. Denzel’s 7 points were good enough to place him ahead of rookie pro Nic Long, and gave Denzel his first AA win of the ’09 season – and the 3rd AA victory in his two year Pro career.

In Womens Pro, Redline’s ALISE POST also took the Saturday win - with a 1-2-3 in her mains. After Dom Daniels crashed in the first main while trying to swoop underneath The Beast in turn two, and then backing it up with a strong second in main #2, the win was all Post’s to win or lose. Her consistency paid off with a big check and a spot on the top rung of the podium. This too, was Post’s first win of the season.

On Sunday, it was looking like Redline’s new dynamic duo could do the same - that was, until the AA semi. Denzel blew his gate as spectating kids were immitating the horns of the gate cadence all weekend long - causing a few re-starts. Stein’s bad start ended his quest for a double right there.
Meanwhile, Alise The Beast was on fire. With newly found confidence from weeks at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Redline’s new gal won the overall, again - this time with an 8-1-1 in the three main events. “I blew it in the first one,” texted Alise. “But won the next two in some great races.” Two wins – and her first “double” in Redline colors, will definitely come in handy in the ABA’s Pro Women point chase. In the Am ranks, current national Cruiser points leader GEORGE GOODALL was up against his toughest arch-rivals - “Beltbuckle” Barry Nilson and Capt.Kirk Chrisco (both who have hoisted No.1 silver Cups above their heads in the past). On Saturday, they got the best of Gorgeous George on the cruiser, but Goodall came back strong for the 20″ class and showed them “who’s da’ man.” For day two, George wasn’t about to be denied and wound up holding off his nemsis’ for both mains – making it a 3 wins outta 4 score. The town of Klatovy in the Czech Republic played host to Round 3 & 4 of the Euro Championship Series; and all of Redline's Global Team members were out in force - noteably the Dutch National Team providing an amazing display of strength, skills and speed throughout the weekend. Also in the hunt for spots on the Elite podium were Italy's BMX-version of Valentino Rossi - MANUEL DeVECCHI, and France's DAMIEN GODET. Dutch Natioanl team coach (and living BMX legend in Europe) BAS DeBEVER gave us the scoop: "Saturday started off well, with all of the team making it through their respective motos, showing me that the whole team is feeling good. Some bad luck and a kamikaze Czech rider made an abrupt end to Saturdays ambitions for a few of us. Nonetheless, two of our Dutch Elites made it into Saturday's main event - Martijn (Scherpens) ended up in 6th and Raymon (Van der Beizen) in 8th." In Junior Elite, the Dutch have a new secret weapon - and her name is Merle van Benthem. "She is on a role lately," Bas informed us. "Merle won the Junior Women's class both days." On Sunday, the Redline Global team were firing on all two cylinders. "Sunday started of just as well as Saturday," DeBever continued. "After the motos were done, four of us cruised straight into the main event, making half of Sunday's finale an Orange Crush fest!" But there were more than just four Dutch Flight bikes in that main event...
"The best thing about Sunday," said MANUEL DeVECCHI- Italy's No.1 Pro, "...is we were 6 Redline riders out of 8 in the Elite Men main!"
This was the second time in Redline history that its Global riders have outnumbered all by 6-to-8 odds in the Euro Champ series. And it's a feat that no other brand has ever come close to doing. I reached the main on Sunday," DeVecchi continued, "but unfortunately couldn't find a way to stay in the top of the group. After a bit of contact in the second corner, I went out." " I felt a little bit tired during the week, but it was not so bad of a weekend ," summed up France's Olympian racer DAMIEN GODET. "On Saturday, I was out in 1/8 final. I tried to get the Dutch guys in the corner but I guess they were stronger than me. On Sunday, I felt a lot better. I was fast on the track and qualified for the main, finishing 7th after a bad gate. We were 6 Redline riders in that main - 4 Dutch, Manuel and me! The Dutch riders were very fast this weekend." With the odds stacked in Redline's favor, it was RAYMON van der BIEZEN coming closest to stopping So Africa's Olympic main-maker Sifiso Nhlapo, with Mr. MARTIJN SCHERPEN.com battling for the third rung of the Euro Champ podium. "In the main my gate was all right, but I didn't get perfectly over the first jump and lost some speed" - writes Martijn on his always-up-to-the-minute website. "Out of the first turn I was in the 4th position, (but I) came back to third on the third straight, but made a mistake and fell back to the 4th position." | Round 4 (Sunday) ELITE | MEN Results: | | 1. For many of these guys, it's going to be a busy 3-weeks of travel and BMXin'. "Next stop will be Creazzo, Italy - which is Manuel's hometrack," commented Godet. "I'll race there and then go to Copenhagen, Denmark for the SX event, with the French national team."

Two-consecutive NAG No.1 title holder DAKOTA SENGER(Oregon) will be highlighted in next weeks’ edition of Sports Illustrated – in their traditional FACES IN THE CROWD section. After having a stellar year in 2007 – with a NAG No.1 title and UCi World Championship, Dakota’s chance to defend it in 2008 blew up when a slip of the pedals while doing sprints busted up his ankle really bad. But he didn’t let it ruin his year, and wound up returning in July to begin a late-year charge back to the top of ABA age group standings. Thanks to a whole lot of consistency and a Grands victory in 12x, Dakota was able to defend his No.1 plate and end the year on a high note. REDLINE BICYCLES

Lake Perris, CA: Some of the toughest Gloabl competition showed up for the ABA’s SoCal Nationals - only to find that “sunny So Cal” was calling for some torrential rain; which for some reason always seems to lead to torrential mud.To make for better racing conditions for NBC’s Universal TV camera crew and BMX show, the ABA moved the UCi event to Sunday. By then, the track conditions were almost as good as the competition. With the precious UCi points up for grabs, Redline’s GLOBAL Team showed up in full force - including The Netherland’s MARTIJN SCHERPEN and ROBERT DeWILDE, Japan’s MASA SAMPEI and Crew, Canada’s TORY NYHAUG and of course USA’s DENZEL STEIN. For MartijnScherpen.com, just making it to the Elite Mens Final was pretty impressive. The breakdown in the final was 5 Americans, one Aussie, one Latvian, and Scherpen doin’ it for Holland. Down the first straight, it was elbow to elbow with bars bangin’ in the first turn - and reigning No.1 pro Kahlon Young taking the blunt of it. Scherpen was gettin’ squuezed like a tube o’ toothpaste, but worked his magic and got up to fourth; where he would hold on. In the Jr Elite main, Stein and Nyhaug were representin’ the red, white and black, and hoped to make it a 1-2 finish like they had in Oklahoma. It was Rdline bookends - with Nyhaug in lane 8 and Denzel lane 2. When the gate dropped, Stein actually blew his gate but quickly laid down his power and blasted back to the front, never to look back. Meanwhile, to all of Tory’s fans delight, he was flyin’ from the outside and made his way to the 4th spot. This was Stein’s second consecutive Jr.Elite victory.

December 30th, 2008 REDLINE BICYCLES is pleased to announce the addition of Minnesota’s ALISE POST; the 2-time ABA National No.1 Pro Women title holder and a 2012 U.S. Olympic hopeful. Hailing from St. Cloud, Minnesota, the soon-to-be 18 year old completes the “new generation” Team Redline – joining Texan DENZEL STEIN as their one-two punch in the ABA Pro ranks. Both riders will be joining 6-time Vet Pro Champion JASON CARNE$, and given full support to chase down the No.1 titles as needed. Having raced since the young age of six, Alise holds a total of six ABA National Championships - 4 as an Amateur and two as a Professional. She is also the only female to ever receive BMXer magazine’s Golden Crank trophy for “Rookie Pro of the Year” (2007). As an amateur, Post tallied up numerous No.1 plates in the ABA and UCi - including ten NAG (Age Group) No.1’s and seven ABA World Championships. Without a doubt, she will add a few more No.1’s to Redline “Door of Fame” on their race trailer.
Whether on a BMX bike, off a gymnastics vault, or with a pole vault – Alise has no fear of catchin’ air and hittin’ high speeds. When not dominating the BMX scene, she can be found doing the same in gymanastics (she is a 3-time MSHSL State Champion in Vault, 7-time MSHSL All State Athlete, 2-time MSHSL Top Five Elite Gymnast Award Recipient and 7-time USAG State Champion), or ruling in track ‘n field (where she is 6-time All State Athlete and 12-time All-Conference Athlete). Even more amazing is the fact that she’s balanced these three sports while still maintaining a 4.0 GPA. In 2009, she will be graduating high school and has recently been checking out Universities in Minnesota and California. After flirting with the Post family for nearly a year, REDLINE was pleased to hand her a contract at the ABA Grands in November – where she signed the 2-year agreement on Sunday night following the main events. “We are psyched to get Alise Post on a Redline Flight bike,” commented Redline marketing manager Craig “gOrk” Barrette. “For years, she has looked up to Redline rider Kim Hayashi as a role model; so it’s almost destiny that she now replaces Lil’ Kim on our Redline roster. We’ll ensure that she gets to all of the ABA, NBL and UCi events in order to be in every title-contention, and I firmly believe she’ll have a good shot at the *Triple Crown.” Alise will be making her REDLINE debut at the ABA Silver Dollar Nationals in Reno, NV on January 9-11.

Well ... there's good news and there is bad news.
So, let's start off with the GOOD: At the UCi World Champs, UK's SHANAZE READE, in her first year on Team REDLINE, whupped up on all comers and dominated for a repeat World Champ win. Last year in Brazil, Shanaze won Jr Elite. This year in Victoria, she did it as a rookie Elite Woman. Definitely a good sign for what;s to come in 2008 when she goes to the Olympics.
As if Shanaze's performance in Canada didn't send a message to all, she then went on to Beijing, China for the one and only "test race" on the Olympics BMX track. And man!, whatta track it is! HUGE jumps, giant starting hill ... everything we'd hope an Olympic BMX race would have.
So -- Shanaze shows up and uses her motos and semi's as "test" races; trying out different gears and seeing what she could do in certain situations. In fact, many people were counting her out of the podium. But as she has shown in the past -- when she needs to turn on the power, she hits the two nitrous-powered things we call legs, and she BLASTS OFF.
In the main, that is exactly what she did. Speedy Readey killed 'em on the China track and put in her name as the odds-on-favorite for Olympic Gold.
And that's not ALL the good news from the China event--in the Mens Elite main, the DUTCH NATIONAL Team did not disapoint. In fact, of the 32 fastest qualifiers; 7 of them were part of the "Orange Crush" Redline~Dutch team. In the quarters, we lost one, and then another in the semi. Which made for FOUR .. make that, HALF THE GATE, of the Elite Mens main, were Netherlands riders mounted on their custom-painted, bonestock Flight Pro XXL bikes!
And what a main! Team Captain Robert DeWilde, the king of UCi points for the past 2 or 3 years, showed China what to expect but coming closest to catching eventual winner Donny Robinson. Coming from 4th position, DeWIlde moved up to 2nd in the last turn, and nearly pulled up alongside D.R., and then drag-raced him to the finishline for a Silver-spot on the podium.
Other top REDLINE Global Team members who looked sharp in China were Frence's DAMIEN GODET, who wa seeded No.5 after the Time Trial. And Redline-Italy's MANUEL DeVICCHI also made the cut of 32, and got thru to the semi's before his day ended.
BAD NEWS:
After setting the benchmark during practice in China, REDLINE and USA's best hope for Olympic glory; BUBBA HARRIS, was flyin' in his first run (of 2) in the opening time trials. At the 2nd turn split-time, Bubba was on track for setting the fastest lap but a slight fumble on the next straightaway saw him veer off course and slam hard, with his left foot still clipped in to the pedals most of the way down. To the World's dismay, Bubba's left foot was totally dislocated from his ankle. Bubba was in total pain and agony for the next 3 hours, until they could get to the right Chinese hospital (45 minutes away) and find the right doctors. It then took 5 doctors and 3 nurses to yank his foot back in to place; where it normally should be.
As of right now, Bubba will be out for 3 months and plans to return just in time for the ABA Fall Nationals at DisneyWorld, in Orlando Florida. All of us still formly believe that he'll come back stronger and more motivated than ever and the goal for 2007 will still be winning a record-making 4th ABA No.1 Pro title. To do this, it'll take straight wins and podiums at the remaining 5 races. We all know that he turns it up a notch or two at the Grands, and the BMX world should expect to see the same classic Bubba show up in Tulsa, OK this Thanksgiving.
ADDING MORE NBL NO.1's TO THE DOOR OF THE REDLINE TRAILER:
The NBL recently wrapped up their '06/'07 Season, and Team REDLINE scored a total of 4 NBL No.1 titles; to be added to the already-crowded door of No.1 plates. KIM HAYSHI made NBL history by scoring her FIFTH (that's right -- 5 consecutive years, 1/2 of a decade) NBL No.1 Elite Women plate.
In the final, Krashin' Kim didn't take the win but a podium finish gave her enough overall points to maintain the lead she's held all year long.
JASON CARNE$ also scored a NBL No.1 Masters plate -- which he'd previously ziptied to his bars but had lost it last year to Kiyomi Waller. Jason was out for redemption and had kept his points lead all year, as well. Now with the NBL No.1 plate, all Jason needs to do is nab his 6th-consecutive ABA Vet Pro title in order to be crowned the KING of the OLD FARTS.
Also in Louisville, 2-time defneding Champ ANTHONY DeROSA, was out to hold on to his NBL plates and make it two consec years of domination before he enters his teen years. The 12x again won in both class and cruiser, and firmly put his name in the NBL record books as the Kid to beat in 2006/2007.
What's up next for REDLINE? The new 2008 Catalogs just hit the shops and the '08 bikes are arriving as we type this. With a bigger presence at INTERbike, and increased expansion in the Euoprean market (after hiring a Euro Sales Manager and displaying at the EURObike show), look for REDLINE to take over the World!
Well ... at least, look for them at a Bike Shop near you.

TEAM REDLINE ROCKS ARIZONA
- A SLIGHTLY-INJURED BUBBA HARRIS NEARLY WINS ON SUNDAY
- DENZEL STEIN TAKES 3 WINS OUT OF 4; MOVES UP IN AMATUER POINTS CHASE
- DAKOTA SENGER SCREAMS WITH VENGEANCE ON 11X CLASS
- JASON CARNE$ TOPS VET PRO MAINS BOTH DAYS; STRETCHES HIS POINTS LEAD FOR 6TH NO.1 PLATE
- KIM HAYASHI MAKES HER 2007 ABA DEBUT A GOOD ONE
- GEORGE GOODALL DOUBLES ON DAY ONE; FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HIS LIFE
- REDLINE LEGEND STOMPIN’ STU RETURNS TO THE RANKS
Many words can sum up the 2007 ABA Winternationals. Although it may be a bit 70’s-ish, GNARLY is the one that I would choose.
The AA-pros on Saturday were crashin' in the mains more than I've ever seen in my entire BMX career! In one main, 7 went down and Stumpy was the lone survivor – something you’d expect to see in 35 & Over Novice; not in the fastest Pro class in the sport. It just goes to show how crazy the racing was. Good ol’ bar-bangin', nobody-holdin'-back, no holds barred BMX racing! In one of the most important years for BMX, the BMX racing world is in for some highly aggressive racing and tough competition.
...
Needless to say, after the second main bash & crash, REDLINE’s defending 3-time Champ BUBBA HARRIS was hurtin' bad. He'd slammed himself good (along with plenty of other pros). Yet just when I thought he was hurt enough not to show up for the third main, he gets up on the gate and takes a 2nd place. That finish was vital in keeping him on the third tier of the podium.
A fifth-straight 3rd place score?! We suppose that Redline ad was right; "3 is THE magic number" right now for Bub’.
...
Figuring he's still hurtin' for certain, myself and many others were assuming that Harris would pull out of Sunday's racing to rest up for the next three weekends of important UCi country-points events. But there he was Sunday morning, lining up after the National Anthem, ready to take on the best BMXers in the World on the track he now calls home. And he was lookin' back in true form
... that was, up until turn three.
Bub' was winning his first moto when Brandon Meadows attempted an inside move in the shadows of turn 3 and slid out right up in to him – SOCKO!! Both went down. That crash didn't help cure Bubba's already hyper-extended elbow, scraped-up back, sore wrist and scabby ankle. But he's a Pro -- and he had come here to race.
And that he did – up to the front in the next two motos.
...
Sunday’s semi time: With Bubba unable to fully straighten out his left arm, many of us were thinking this is as far as he may get ...especially when he came out of the gate practically dead last. But in true Pro Champ fashion, he moved up from 7th to pick off a fourth place at the finishline and make the main! AMAZING! ... and here we thought he might not race today!

In the AA mains; it was classic Winter National action. Bubba and his Flight Pro XXL were up front in the first main but proceeded to get tangled up in a crash. 6th place.
Again -- the crowd was beginning to doubt he'd pull off a win, let alone a podium.
But then he gets it all together for main #2 and wins from start to finish. Just SMOKED 'em! Bubba must've figured you have to be way up front to avoid any carnage this weekend. Amazingly, this meant there was a 3-way tie for 1st going in to the final main!
The third main was tight -- as both Bubba and Stumpy blasted down the first straight, bumping elbows to the first turn. With Stumpy on the inside, our Redline hero found himself in 2nd out of the turn one and went on to try every move in his SuperCamp "Passing for Dummies" book. It was like the Grands mains all over again. But this time, Bubba couldn't get by the wily veteran of AA.

Good racing, for sure. And Bubba tallied up a VERY tough weekend with a consistent 3rd and 2nd place score. Best of all; he finally broke the third place streak with a 2. Or even better yet, is the news that Bubba now sits in the No.2 spot of ABA pro points with only 6 scores in. But that first win of the season still continues to elude him. And with NBL Florida events and the ultra important UCi Supercross in Spain coming up, we'll likely have to wait until Roseville, CA in May to see him get back on top of the podium and points.

In other Redline news, Dallas' modern day human dragster, DENZEL STEIN, doubled on Sunday and won class on Saturday – which helped Team Redline score a 218 team sheet (good for 2nd place on day one, by a mere 1 point). On Sunday, Redline's small roster placed third, with a 200 score and rumor has it a third place finish. WOW … not bad for a 4-Am, 3-Pro roster.
Saturday, Dakota Senger won his class (11x) – yet then didn't make his class main on Sunday! Funny how that works.
So if Denzel is todays Human Dragster, then the modern day “Earthquake” must be GEORGE GOODALL. Gorgeous George not only won cruiser again (as promised), but DOUBLED on Saturday, in front of his hometown crowd and fans. George was rippin' it up aboard his new Flight Pro XXL bike, and is quickly climbing his way to the top of the NAG and National cruiser standings. He was leading again on Sunday until turn two, when he left the door wide open for ABA’s reigning National No.1 cruiser dude to sneak in.
Could there be a National No.1 Cruiser Cup in this guys' future?! We'll find out in November.

In ABA history, only one person has ever taken a No.1 title 6 times in a row – and it’s not JASON CARNE$ … (at least YET). That guy would be Eric Rupe; and he and a hoard of 30 over Pros are out to stop the Horny Toad in his quest to tie Rupe’s Vet Pro record. However they tried – including some tough comp from French Import Pierre Sauze and Black Mountain local Jason Silva. In the end, their efforts were trivial as Redline’s 5-time reigning Champ stood atop the ABA podium both days and stretched his lead in the Vet Pro chase for the silver Cup.

What about KIM HAYASHI, you ask?! Much like Bubba, she took home a 2nd and 3rd for the weekend in her first ABA event of the year. Kim had her moments of glory and was definitely a contender, nipping on the high heels of current ABA Pro Girl champ Alise Post.

And mentioned last in this article but technically, the first name in BMX – STOMPIN’ STU THOMSEN, Redline legend and ABA’s very first No.1 Pro, made one his rare appearances and took on the 36 & Over Expert class, as well as the old farts in 45-50 cruiser. With “Stu Who?” adorned on his back, he diced and sliced his way to the main but just didn’t have the umph needed to score any wins or top-3 finishes. And if you knew what he’s been through the past year, you’d definitely understand. After this weekend, Stu told us he’ll be training more and plans on racing again this year. “I still hate losing,” he said. “I guess I’ll always be that way.”
