Overview

How I got started

I started riding a Quad when I was 3 years old with my father and friends in the desert. I raced for 9 years in the Dist. 37 Kids class, before moving up to the adult class the middle of last season. I finished 8th in the open Quad AMA Dist. 37 class and 9th in the Nat. Hair and Hound Champ. in 2002.

In 2004 I raced every district 37 desert race and 2 grand prix; Glen Helen and 29 palms. In April at the Vikings National I came off my quad in 6th gear going down a valley. I broke six back vertabrate, a rib and recieved a major concusion. At that time in the race season I was 7th in points and third in the race against the local pros. My crash has taught me many things, but the biggest thing is not to give up. I cant wait to start riding again.

Goals for the Future

My goal for next season is to get back in the groove of racing. I hope to start riding again by the end of the year. I recieved my amateur plate just before my accident and I would like to finish in the top 10 every race and up finishing with the top amateur racers. Also, I would like to race Best in the Desert, Vegas to Reno. Last year I was entered with two other district 37 riders but I ended up having to pull out.

Competitive Highlights

In my first year of racing( 2002) I finished with the # 8 plate in AMA Dist. 37. I also finished first in several races last season, earning transfers to the amateur class. In 2003 I finished with the # 12 plate after missing races due to mononucleosis. In 2004 I raced every race possible and was 7th in points. A huge crash in April stopped me from racing the rest of the season; but my determination is still strong. My third race back after my accident, i finished 1st amateur and 4th overall.
