Overview

My first years of racing

My cousin started racing ATV motocross in 2003. I went to most of his races and was hooked! I got my first quad in Dec. 2003 and started racing in 2004. I spent that first year learning to ride and race mx, then ran a local series in the Youth class in 2005 with a goal of finishing Top Five overall. I finished fourth. I was also named STQRA's 2005 "Most Improved Rider."

I moved up to the Sport Quad/ Blaster class on a local level in 2006 with a goal of making Top Three for the series. I won the STQRA class championship!

In 2007 I will race my last season on a 300ex, and I plan to make it my best one yet!

I've been fortunate to be quoted in numerous articles this year, had my photo in local newspapers several times, and was even featured on the front page. Getting interviewed for it at school was different. I'd like to have some major sponsors to talk about in them next time!

Future Goals:

I plan to continue racing, building my skills and increasing my speed. I'd like to eventually race national pro.

Bio

I'm a 15-year-old male living in Huffman TX, just outside the Houston area. I am one of two racers on the J and J Racing team, which is made up of our extended family. My cousin also races. My step-dad and grandpa work on our quads in the pits, my mom does our web site (jandjracing.com) and promo, my grandma takes AWESOME photos, my aunt video tapes our races and my great-grandma does what she can to help out. We attend all races (even when one of us isn't competing) and many practices together as a team, all working together.

I love the rush of a gate drop and of clearing the jumps on a track. I'm addicted to racing, and I want to win! I have a lot of fun hanging out in the pits with friends and meeting new riders. There's not much I don't like about racing, other than crashing, having mechanical problems or not being able to race more!

Aside from riding and racing ATVs and riding my dirt bike, I like to swim, hunt, fish, read, and play video games. I’m a sophomore at Hargrave High School, taking Pre-AP classes. I’ve played on football, baseball and soccer teams, and enjoyed all three. My passion, however, is racing ATV MX!

The rider who most inspires me is my cousin, Justin Lawson. He helps me learn to ride better, and he got me into racing. I’ve also learned a lot from Dee Manshack of Rage ATV Racing, and wouldn’t be where I am without the help from them and my family! I also admire John Natalie Jr. He’s a great guy, and he worked hard to get where he is today.

The track I most would like to race is Glen Helen, haven't made it there yet. I will, tho!
