What inspires you to compete?
I want to grow up and be as good as my dad was and make it to Loretta Lynn`s just like he did! He inspires me because he is a great rider and is friends with everyone at the track! I want to continue to get faster and more experienced so that I can run with the "bigger boys" at some of the bigger races!
Why do you like this sport?
I like it because I have a lot of fun and have made many new friends. I love going to the races the night before and seeing everyone. As for racing, it challenges me to be always try to become better. I love the fact that I can battle with some of my closest friends on the track but once we cross the checkered flag we are able to high five eachother and leave what happened in the race out on the track. I also love the fact that during the race "it's all me" my choices..my abilities... I like the fact that there is always a jump to conquer or a second to gain in a corner...There is constantly a way to improve and to me that is very rewarding. I don't feel that way when I play Soccer.
Some Personal Information About Me:
I`m in 6th grade. I get good grades at school. I was just moved to the advanced math class which I'm pretty happy about. I am a little obsessed with dirtbikes (so my Mom says). I love going to the races. I also play Soccer and Lacrosse, and I am up to a green belt in Karate. I had to quit karate for now though, because the classes were interfering with my Motocross on the weekends! I also am into downhill skiing and snowmobiling.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
I have a track at my house that my Dad and Grandpa built. I ride on that when I can after school (depending on the homework situation) and sometimes on Saturday mornings before we load up for the races (if it's just a local one). Sometimes we'll go to a local track (Area 51) on a Weds. night for a change. I'm on "TEAM THUNDER ALLEY" this year so I will be training with them, also. During the Winter we try to get to an indoor track at least a few times for some training to keep me in shape for the Spring qualifiers! I ride my own snowmobile in the Winter so that's how I practice the "whoops"...Skiing in the Winter and all the running in Lacrosse in Spring helps me out a lot during our off-season. In the Summer when I'm not riding I'm playing Soccer, swimming, or out on our trampoline trying to master tricks!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
