What inspires you to compete?
Being able to give my full potential in something that only benefits myself...
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I don`t ever want to grow up...
Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?
I love to travel! My best road trip story actually happened not too long ago. After a long night of partying in Las Vegas (I was living there at the time)my sister had this grand idea at 6am to drive to the beach... and we did just that. No clothes, toothbrush, make-up, nothing but my new SUV and the money in our wallets. We had the best weekend ever and I will never forget that road trip!!!
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
I train about 3-5 days per week and run approximately 20-25 miles per week. I love to run and I really don't look at it as training, but more as a therapeutic challenge.
Why do you compete?
The first year that I competed, I didn`t decide to run a marathon until two months prior to the event and having not run for over six months, it was a struggle. The more I trained though, the higher my goals had become. Running the entire marathon surpassed any goal I had set and made me realize my full potential to continue participating in such events.
After running my second event, I think I set my expectations and standards a little too high. Although I did better than my first year, the time was not where I wanted it to be.
Now I train to stay in shape so that I can take on the challenge of running an event whenever the opportunity presents itself.
